Pros

-Fully remote -Good medical benefits

Cons

-Extremely unprofessional: I was placed on a performance plan for non performance factors such as enthusiasm during team meetings. My performance plan was also discussed with my peers without my consent while I was on vacation. While taking my allocated time off I was told that I am taking too many PTO days yet they have a designated amount and everything was approved weeks before the time off. -Unorganized: Leadership on a number of different teams has transitioned multiple times over the past year. -Poor leadership: Unable to make decisions in a timely manner. Lack the knowledge to know what it takes to succeed/grow.

Thank you for taking the time to share your reflections on your time at Otus. I am very sorry to hear that your experience fell short of what we strive to achieve with all our teammates. We will certainly reflect upon this feedback. Every piece of feedback is incredibly important for us to understand and learn from. Most importantly, we wish you well now and always. Pros

Otus has a great SaaS product. Being part of the team that’s taking it to market is exciting, especially because it’s truly making life easier for educators, who have the hardest jobs in the world. I have all the tools I need (a brand new MacBook Pro) to do the work that I need to do, and my team is supportive. Leadership is (actually, seriously) really good. I’ve never been anywhere where leaders encourage feedback and truly listen to and learn from employees. We’re a pretty flat org without having to define what flat means. To me, that’s what flat should be. There is a true work/life balance: 2 days WFH is standard and encouraged, in addition to a ton of PTO days. I really love my coworkers. It’s not a cutthroat environment. We support each other the best we can. Otus is a welcoming place to work without feeling like you have to “drink the koolaid.” Do your job, care about what you do, then go home. The location is great for me. I love working in the West Loop.

Cons

It’s really hard to think of any. Ed tech in the K12 space is crowded but I feel confident we’re doing the right things to bring Otus to market the right way.

Pros

Small organization that passionately serves the K12 space. Most of the company is made up of former teachers and/or experienced EdTech professionals.

Cons

As the fast growth occurs, it means roles and responsibilities are often in flux and change is inevitable.
