Extremely supportive working environment

Pros

From day one you can expect to learn something new and interact with all people working there, the culture is great, structure is flat, and you are given responsibilities from the get-go. They also provide you with the flexibility to work from anywhere and plenty of growth opportunities if you are young and weighing up different roles.

Cons

Sometimes things can be a little disorganised and information limited, not really ideal for individuals who are constantly looking for guidance and afraid to take responsibility.

Fun Team, Bad Leadership

Pros

You’ll be working with a bright, energetic, and outgoing team. If you are proactive about your personal development, you’ll have unique opportunities to develop your expertise in HubSpot, marketing technologies, AI, and business automation. There is a lot of flexibility to explore different digital skills at a level higher than most agencies in Hong Kong. Clients are international and diverse, so you’ll have exposure to different industries and interesting projects. They have quarterly activities (e.g. junk boat, roller skating, painting workshop) and regular events with great food. Insurance is comprehensive, covering health and dental.

Cons

Leadership does not have a clear long-term vision for the company, frequently changing and adding new priorities before fully completing old initiatives. They add more responsibilities while offering little and inconsistent feedback, support, coaching, or motivation. Many initiatives will be rushed when the leaders suddenly remember their urgency/importance. You will be given KPIs but most metrics aren’t properly tracked, so performance can be gauged subjectively and inconsistently. When you are not performing well, they start a strict disciplinary process. Once in this system, you are expected to have a 100% success rate on the KPIs within a certain period. This can range from 1 month (yellow card), 2 months (orange card), and 6 months (red card). The hybrid work arrangement they boast as a benefit on the website can be taken away from you once you get a yellow card. Learning & development is also not as structured as the website suggests, and international travel opportunities (shown in job postings) are rare.
