The Most Toxic Place I've Ever Worked

Pros

Pays well, especially if you threaten to quit. Flexible with schedules if you're a parent. They make it easy to do the bare minimum & still be considered a "hard worker".

Cons

Unfortunately, the last "Pro" above is also a Con, because it means that those who actually work hard get treated the same way as (but often worse than) the bare-minimum workers. This is especially prevalent of those bare-minimum workers are tenured employees, or men. As long as the work is getting done and no one is filing lawsuits – and of course they maintain some token female managers – they don't care about how many people have had to succumb to toxic working conditions. They fail to take their employees complaints seriously, so they have managers creating havoc and making decisions that are bad for the company and no one to hold them accountable. Promoting the underqualified seems to be a common theme for PSC, especially if they are men and/or brown-nosers. You will only get ahead in this company if you do as your told without question for over ten years, and then you might have a chance at growth. If you get promoted before then, you somehow managed to get along with your manager on a personal level (claiming to like the same sports team or hobby as your direct superior will get you farther than actually processing solid work). TL;DR if you want a job with advancement opportunities and growth potential, respectful treatment of women, genuine environmentally conscious procedures, and challenges that support your career growth, PSC is NOT the place for you.

Fair look at PSC

Pros

Paid Lunch. Thru-put bonus location goals are met. Clean facilities and protective equipment for eyes and ears provided. There is a percentage match on 401K. If you have children, there is an annual chance to have your children submit for a scholarship (believe it is $2500? $1000?, but any scholarship is a good scholarship). There is grade based tuition reimbursement up to $1500. There are events the company participates in and allows employees participate in at a reduced price or sometimes free, but the activities do not vary greatly and are mostly for the athletic/sport inclined Shooting, Marathon or Mudrun etc.

Cons

Raise occurred approx only every 3 years, they are much less than inflation so expect wage to be able to pay for less. Benefits have been consistently worse in coverage or cost. Overtime and Saturdays are not optional if company is operating. Employee perfect attendence bonus removed. Company expanding and making greater profits, never passed down to loyal employees. Employee loyalty is non-existent, employee satisfaction and appreciation is very low on the organization's concerns. There is high turnover both quitting and firing. Organization implements underwhelming acknowledgment for superior work and almost never rewards individuals but frequently has verbal and written reprimands. Work-life balance is possible on the first of the three (24 operation) shifts so make sure that the shift hours you accept employment for suit your need, there is little concern or flexibility outside of the minimal sick/vacation benefits.

Pros

Plenty of work and good pay

Cons

Lower managers are liars. You will loose you job for there benefit. They have no knowledge of what workers are doing and how they are performing job. I busted my tail for 6.5 years and got let go 4 no certain reason. I'm 63 now and still looking for job since I was let go. Never been at company that is so cutthroat. They think employees have no other life. You must be at their control when they need you for overtime.
