      Solid Pros and Cons

      Pros

      Really great people on teams across all departments. Solid engagement of staff - fun commitee, activities after work, etc. Good comradery. Nice office space with a beautiful view. Free snacks and seltzer. Competitive pay. Good funding.

      Cons

      Leadership lacks the empathy and charisma to run a growing tech company. You don't feel a passion going into work everyday.. more like a fear that someone in leadership might snap at you! Moral is often low. Noticeable employee churn across some departments over the last 6+ months. CTO is over his head as a leader. He's a smart guy with a great vision but not equiped to run a company.

      Pros

      The analytic tool (IHD) is cutting edge and allows analysts to easily answer research questions. Overall, the company culture is great. HR does a great job connecting employees.

      Cons

      This specific team is new and has many areas for improvement. I was only given one mapping project to complete from start to finish on my own in my year at the company. There were many opportunities to gain experience; however, tasks were not divided/delegated in a way that would allow analysts to gain tangible experience. Overall, people were very pleasant to work with. I had interpersonal issues with a senior analyst (read: workplace bullying) and my manager did not effectively address the situation. I chose to leave the company because I did not feel as though I could grow within the team. I did not have the opportunity to use SQL at all during this year despite taking a SQL based test during the interview process.

      Great place to work and to learn the data behind healthcare analytics

      Pros

      The Solutions team gets along very well and our boss, Catherine, is fantastic to work with. She is fully invested in the team and receptive to feedback. Solutions is very collaborative and no task is too small for any person. If you join, expect to be doing a little bit of everything. In general, people in the office are very open, friendly and smart. The day-to-day is usually challenging and there's a lot of opportunity to take on tasks that interest you. The PTO policy has recently changed and is very generous. Other benefits include things like summer Fridays, pre-tax commute contributions, FSA, and a simple IRA. Work-life balance is also pretty good. Days are typically 8.5 hours with no large expectation to work nights or weekends. The company's business is skyrocketing and the IHD analytics platform gets a lot of positive reviews. It's a good time to be here as there are many new initiatives up ahead.

      Cons

      There's sometimes resistance to changing specific processes if it'll take extra work because resources can be stretched at times. The burden of this usually falls on the non-decision makers Taboo topics tend to get swept under the rug even though upper-management preaches transparency.
