I love my job.

Pros

I greatly enjoy working here. The performance requirements are reasonable, and the work we get is often interesting. As with editing anywhere, some of the jobs are more challenging than others. Depending on how fast you work, there is the opportunity to earn commission. With the wide variety of work we get and with our performance requirements in mind, my editing knowledge and speed have significantly increased since I started working here. Employees here gain considerable experience in many different writing styles and at various levels of writing quality. There are abundant editing resources (e.g., style guides, templates, training information, documents explaining work-related processes), and if you can't find the answer to something, the senior editors are happy to help. The 401(k) match is great, and there's PTO. There are overtime opportunities depending on business. I highly appreciate my coworkers and the owner, who all are friendly and helpful. Everyone here seems to enjoy our work.

Cons

As some other reviewers have mentioned, there are limited feedback opportunities, which is something I think could be improved. There are slow times when someone on the shift must volunteer to take the shift off; however, as mentioned, there are also times when overtime is offered.

Pros

The remote work opportunity is unparalleled. The staff and management are friendly with a vibrant sense of community. Extensive opportunity to edit documents from a wide range of fields and countries, which can only help truly dedicated editors hone their skills.

Cons

The pay scale may be less than desired, but given the benefits package and the flexibility with scheduling and working from home, the pros outweigh the cons.
