Pros

I have never worked for a company who are as focused on supporting their staff. The culture and people centric approach to everything is inspiring and amazing. You are made to feel like a valuable member of the company. Patch My PC, although very mature now and a highly respected third-party patching vendor, still has an exciting start-up feel where we can respond dynamically to customer and technology demands - I love this. Not being bogged down in so much process that creativity and innovation are stumped. There are incredible growth opportunities at the company and every person has a can-do attitude and helps each other out without hesitation. Senior team are incredibly empathetic and have a real pulse on what is happening. The best company I have ever worked for.

Cons

I didn't find this company sooner in my career.

Pros

I’ve been with the company for nearly two years and have found that there are good opportunities to grow internally. The work is fast-paced, which keeps things interesting and engaging, and the projects feel meaningful. I also feel I can contribute to the company’s broader goals, which are clearly communicated by the leadership team. Most people across the company seem to practice a growth mindset, which creates a positive environment for learning and improvement. The company’s values are also taken seriously and are reflected in how people approach their work.

Cons

I haven’t experienced any standout cons at Patch My PC so far. Since we all work remotely, it could be nice to have more opportunities to meet colleagues in person from time to time. That said, it’s not really a negative since I chose to work for a remote company and the flexibility that comes with it.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share this. It means a lot. I’m glad you’ve had opportunities to grow and that the work feels meaningful. That’s something we care a lot about. We want people to feel like they’re making a real impact, not just checking boxes. The note about growth mindset and living our values day to day is especially great to hear. That’s one of those things that’s easy to say and harder to actually do. On the remote side, we hear the feedback about wanting more in person time pretty consistently, and I agree it matters. It's one reason we do our annual company summit to bring everyone together, which has been great. Starting this year, we’re also delegating budget to department leaders so teams can plan additional meetups when it makes sense. For example, our Accounts side of Customer Success is meeting up in June, and our Customer Engineer team is getting together in April. So, this is something we’re actively working on that you should see soon. Thanks again for being part of the team and for everything you’re doing to help us improve. - Justin Chalfant

Pros

Where to begin...I don't even know where. It's like you have to be an employee (or a relative of one) at Patch My PC to know what I am talking about but I reckon some of our customers and people we speak to at events will know. Bottom line is a small group of people got together to build a great company and hired other people to help them along the way. They succeeded but are not finished. The culture here is fantastic and there are there are plenty of opportunities to grow - be that through public speaking, training, studying, tech events, and travelling. You are encouraged to demo things you are working on even if its a WIP. As a Software Engineer, you can bring ideas / software patterns to the table and you are encouraged to implement it rather than being shut down. The Senior Leadership Team are very approachable and a lot of them are good singers too. And last but not least, the benefits are extremely generous too.

Cons

I had to dig long and hard for this one but the word on the street is the interview process could have less stages.

Thank you for taking the time to share this. I really appreciate it. Your description of how Patch My PC started made me smile because it is pretty accurate. A small group of people came together to build something useful for customers, and over time more great team members joined and helped shape what the company is today. And like you said, we are not finished. I’m glad you called out the culture and the freedom to bring ideas forward. Some of our best improvements come from team members sharing ideas, experimenting, and demoing work in progress. Thanks also for the feedback on the interview stages and the AMA suggestion. We will keep working to improve. Thanks again for being part of the team. - Justin Chalfant
