      A great model but upper management issues.

      Pros

      Meaningful work at a relatively well-resourced organization (compared to other local organizations serving people experiencing homelessness). Many frontline workers are passionate about the mission and supportive of each other.

      Cons

      Communication between upper management and frontline staff is pretty terrible. Supervision, staff training and development, and staff wellbeing are sacrificed to get billable hours. Also policy is no one without an MSW gets promoted.

      Great Community, Okay Executive Leadership

      Pros

      The people who are doing the work care about the community they are working with, and care about each other

      Cons

      The executive team is detached from the mission of the organization. They often fire people for odd reasons, are not transparent about decisions, and care more about their bottom line (money) than the people they are serving. They have lost several great team leaders and front line workers. I have also witnessed favoritism and wrongful termination

      The managers were very competent and supportive.

      Cons

      Being on call for a week at a time (once a month or so) was very difficult.
