RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Philips part-time for more than 3 years
Pros
This is the only company I have worked in to date that genuinely recognises outputs rather than presenteeism. Their working practices allow you to work flexibly to accomodate out of work commitments. This level of trust in employees is especially refreshing.
Cons
Due to the level of trust, this can lead to lower performers being tolerated for longer than necessary, leading to frustrations within the workforce.
Advice to Management
Be a bit stronger on performance management

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Philips full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
Great products, dedicated people on the ‘deck’ - ability to meet customers face to face and see what a difference you make to them.
Cons
Started as HealthCARE and became HealthTECH. The ‘care’ was very much dropped from the brand. Too much middle management focus on procedures and generating pointless positions that ultimately make no difference to the business landscape. Dedicated a long time to the business and felt like an island at the end of it. Ideas not listened to and stock responses (akin to the glassdoor review responses!) are given instead... of reassurances. Surprising lack of diversity for an equal opportunity company. Limited progression; Perceived progression to be rewarded on who you know as opposed to what you know and how you apply that.
Show More;Advice to Management
Middle management should focus more on the grass roots level driving the company and less on making a name for themselves with initiatives that yield no success. Allow growth of individuality, don’t favour the people that make you tea every day, favour the ones that make your customers happy every day.

RecommendsNeutral OutlookNo Opinion of CEOI worked at Philips full-time for more than a year
Pros
good staff protection, union rep strong good training and CPD autonomy within the organisation, although old school management style
Cons
old school management style not great salary- no clear progression path focus on faddy ideas - black belts in lean, black belts in sigma, given repsonsibility rather than experienced staff
Advice to Management
look at engaging across the levels- lots of young staff not given any input , esp when looking at new techniques etc

RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Philips full-time for less than a year
Pros
Great company to work for, being with them for 6 months I really feel they are focused upon the customer & the employee Excellent opportunities for career (up/down and sideways)
Cons
Standard large company where you need to find out how everything works on your own/who to talk with to get things sorted - but this is standard in large companies
