I worked at PizzaExpress part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Friendly team (though this depends on restaurant), good food and free staff food every shift

    Cons

Often understaffed because management were told not to spend as much on wages - this was a large restaurant that in busy periods sometimes had ~55 full tables and only 3 waiters on shift. Understaffing meant those on shift were stressed and overworked. Very few incentives for support staff if any, whereas waiters would get rewards for hard work - yet we still got penalised for low stock.

I worked at PizzaExpress full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Tips + lovely customers

    Cons

Almost every single thing. For the boss, there is no words. I have never even met and had an opportunity to work for such an awful person. If you don’t want to be put under loads of stress, treated terribly corrected every second of your shift, even when you do your job perfectly, mistreated and even swore at then stay away from this place. The amount of shady stuff that’s going on there is over the top. Sometimes I thought that this restaurant is not owned by the Pizza Express company but by this certain person who sets his own rules, owns discounts and treats customers terribly bad. I have survived a year an a half in this place and came out with depression and anxiety. If you are looking for a decent job, do yourself and your mental health a favour and just scroll past it.

I worked at PizzaExpress part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Some of the staff that I was working with.

    Cons

The management is horrendous, I once asked a manager to help me and she flat out refused and watched me struggle. There is no organisation and the restaurant is often understaffed. The management talk bad about people behind their backs and often single people out for their mistakes. Management rarely praises staff.

    Pros

Free food on the shift, 50% employee discount.

    Cons

Employees are not getting enough training. Restaurants are often understaffed due to Managers trying to save labor therefore it’s a struggle for the ones on shift
