Pros

The company back end hardware is very organized.

Cons

Management is clueless on how to actually manage people, this company is full of good techs that have no direction or cohesion because of that. Management goes out of it's way to constantly play the blame game instead of actually fixing problems, and this is one of those places where management has to be right *ALWAYS*, it gets very petty. Everyone that is C-level makes a real effort to disconnect themselves from the day to day worker and are not interested in the daily issues that cause reoccurring easily fixable problems. If you work here you will guaranteed be forced to deal with the same problem over and over again, and not only will management/C-level employees be unsympathetic, they will ask you to work lots over unpaid overtime (everyone is salary to fix THEIR mistakes. There are no good benefits (401k ect), the healthcare is a bad/expensive pan, you will never get a raise, even if it's promised, and I can easily say that you will be made to feel inferior reguardless of your actual skill level. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS ! ! !

Power Consulting Response

A few of these comments are valuable and are worth addressing. Some things have changed, and some things are simply untrue. - The C-level managers are now in the bullpen (change) - Power Consulting has a 401 K plan with 5% matching, fully vested after elegibility, which is 6 months. (since April 2017) - Last year 6 employees (non-management) out of 18 received raises, and some of these received additional PTO. A raise requires demonstrating competence and good performance, and a desire for growth and more responsibility. - We provide training opportunities for ALL employees. (no change) - Our healthcare plan is through our PEO Trinet. Power consulting pays 65% of premiums and 40% of the deductable. The plan includes dental, vision, and prescription drugs. (no change) - According to our Trinet rep, this is a generous plan. Most employers do not contribute to deductibles.

Tight operation, terrible culture.

Pros

Well they have a tight operation - so there's that. Office is sort of low key, so there's that too, I guess.

Cons

There are many Cons to working here. Bad management, bad meetings, bad attitudes. I'm not into bashing people online, I just wouldn't recommend working here.

Pros

This is a growing company with well-established roots. Over more than 30 years, you can believe it has survived some serious upheaval and has evolved over and over again to meet technological advances. The foundation, that of a family-run operation striving for excellence, remains strong despite the recent expansions. There is an ethic here. A strong work ethic, for sure, but a drive to do "IT Right." You can't do IT Right, if you're not doing right by the people using the tech. I appreciate finding that attitude company-wide. It's very rare in this day of scripted responses and AI Chatbots. As a result, people help each other. People smile when they see you coming. They laugh. They care - about the tech, about their users, about their co-workers. It shows, not only in the "culture" but in the work product put out by actual teams and not just assembly lines of workers. This is a great place to work, and a great place to grow your talents longer-term.

Cons

Change is hard. Growing is hard. Not really cons, but it's not for those who are entrenched and happy with it. PCG is agile. Don't expect to get set in your ways. Do expect to be treated well and to hone your craft.
