      The business side of things is good.

      Cons

      * Super long working hours. Everyone is pressured to spend an additional 6-7 hours at work on Thursday night (till 11-midnight) AND still come in early on Friday. * No passion or talent left in the employees: everyone was incredibly burnt-out. The office culture did not encourage creativity, novel solutions, ownership and responsibility, nor intellectual discourse about machine learning and writing software. You are given your tiny piece, told to work on it and it alone, and then wait eagerly for your next thing. * A startup that has the uptight, stuffy, restrictive culture of a fortune 500. * CEO and founder regards employees as objects: things to be used in his quest to build a company. He sweet talks people to join and then does an about-face once you've signed on the dotted line.

      Struck gold with this company

      Pros

      We are solving really interesting problems with very well-known clients. What more can one ask for? My coworkers are not only brilliant, but super nice and very interesting. We stop work to eat lunch with one another every day, and there are no cliques--you talk to whoever is next to you. The team is social outside of work too. I'm also very impressed with the diversity (age, gender, ethnicity) of the group!

      Cons

      I wish it was a little easier to work from home. People definitely do it, but we don't generally have call-in numbers or google hangouts for meetings or whatever.
