Pros
- Diverse staff (almost everyone from immigrant or ethnic minority background). - Enthusiastic and talented graduates. - Muslim holidays celebrated with nice meals.
Cons
- No working from home. - No holidays October-December. - Perpetual probation with 1 week’s notice all the time. - No pork in the office, going to a pub is not received with enthusiasm by senior staff. - Minimum pension contributions. - Employees ordered to waive their right not to work more than 48h a week. - Work officially finishes at 6pm but unpaid overtime expected by default. - Casual sexism and homophobia are visible. - Practically no promotions - the company employs junior staff and expects them to do senior-level work giving them false promises of career progression. When people finally leave they are replaced by a fresh batch of junior staff. - No women in senior positions. - 6 sick days a year which need to accrue before you can take them, so most likely you will need to use your holiday allowance if you're sick. - Toxic culture with master and slave mentality. Perfect place to conduct research on occupational psychopathy and narcissistic personality disorder. To sum up: Apply only if you’re a graduate who desperately needs to add some experience to your CV. Don’t expect any training there, you’ll need to organise training by yourself, whether it’s copywriting, development, SEO, CRO, SEM or analytics. Don’t stay more than half a year and definitely don’t stay October-December as you’ll have to work late every day (some developers were staying until 2am).
