Pros

Colleagues provide great support, hybrid work, office vibe is positive. Exciting working in research. The company is experiencing notable growth.

Cons

Not much. It's a startup so company is growing in many aspects. But people are great and you can get what you need most of time.

Pros

Constantly exciting work for research scientists, with a practical minded leadership team that ensures that the company does well. Has all the perks of working at a rapidly growing start-up (although I would not call Q-CTRL a start-up anymore) - flexible work environment, significant scientific impact on projects you get to work on, lots of room for growth and a fair amount of independence. Compensation and benefits are very competitive for the quantum computing industry, and are reviewed regularly to remain competitive. Also lots of company sponsored opportunities to gain exposure at academic conferences and other industry events. Overall, employees have a sense of being well taken care of. Mentorship is excellent and you'll certainly learn a lot about quantum computing in the real world working here. I highly recommend working at Q-CTRL, especially if you are a young scientist interested in quantum computing, looking for a chance to have a lot of impact while being well taken care of.

Cons

Nothing significant really. Some minor things: The US office is small and has a bit of an ad-hoc feel. Could be a bit more diverse; company seems to be making an active effort to remedy this. More of an industry problem than a Q-CTRL problem. Company is growing aggressively so major projects can sometimes pop up with very short timelines. That said, work-life balance seems to be a high priority for management, and you are usually given time-off / compensated accordingly for periods of relatively intense work.

Pros

I have not worked for a company that not only delivers on what they say they will, but also one that is making a genuinely positive impact within the technology ecosystem. This ultimately can have a positive impact on society in general and I get to see these amazing things happen live while of course, making an impact myself.

Cons

Not many at all. Like any organisation, we're still learning and there's always room for improvement. But again, the environment here promotes learning, change and is more than willing to adapt. Having previously worked for an extremely large organisation where seeing positive change and impact first hand can be challenging, this has been a breath of fresh air.
