Pros

Life insurance connected to the pension 12 x salary There was a great team which is gone know

Cons

Wages extremely low same JD in another building in the same complex are getting 10 grand more than us . It used to be a family and fun place to work where everyone knew each other but they're making so many cuts getting rid of all the long serving employees and replacing them with young cheaper noes with no knowledge . Everyone is looking over their shoulders . I was there 8 years my manager who was there from the beginning over 25 years was made redundant . Raising PO takes about 3 weeks to get any things . Shift patterns continually changing no thought of how it affects you family

Pros

* Location can be attractive to many * Facilities in general - the building is part of a relatively new business park, so there's lots of open space, light and greenery * Work-life balance - I think it varies from department to department and person to person, but I've not found the need to take work home and prefer working shifts to 9-5 personally * If your face fits there is opportunities to progress or learn about other roles (though, more often sideways) * Production department has a lot of talented and hard-working people * Meet a lot of people, the general daily vibe is friendly and days can be fun

Cons

* Very corporate; lots of middle-management, takes ages for anything to happen. Some of the higher ups have been with the company since early days and are now in high-paid roles without actually having to do much, so they will never leave. And until then, the antiquated slightly nepotistic culture won't either. * Very cliquey; between departments, but also within departments * A lot of blame culture while very little accountability * Unfair job distribution * Impossible targets and in general incredible stinginess with money, whether that's talking about salaries (any excuse to not give you a raise), upgrading equipment, having to pay P&P while ordering from the company, (non-existent) social events etc. * If your face doesn't fit, you will be held to different set of rules and have no chance for progression * Systems are incredibly out-dated and often QVC-specific software that takes ages to learn, but isn't transferable * 'Fix a bleed with a band-aid' mentality

Pros

Office location in Chiswick, London

Cons

As a current employee of QVC UK, I feel compelled to warn potential candidates, especially those in creative roles such as Digital Designers, Graphic Designers, Digital Artworkers, Web Publishers, Web Designers, Creative Designers, Motion Designers and Video Editors, about the appalling work conditions and treatment experienced within the company. In 2023, QVC UK initiated mass layoffs, unjustly targeting over 50% of designers and editors in the digital platforms and content production departments. Shockingly, these individuals were let go without valid reasons or compensation, leaving them in a precarious situation with severe mental health repercussions. Most recently, a digital designer at QVC UK experience was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment they joined the company, they faced unfair treatment, unwarranted placement on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), and ultimately dismissal. Throughout their short tenure of just under 2 years, they endured relentless harassment and discrimination from the digital design manager. Despite lacking previous managerial experience or proper training, the digital design manager was inexplicably promoted to the leadership (line managerial) position, exacerbating the toxic work environment. Currently, designers and publishers at QVC UK including myself are subjected to extreme micromanagement, excessive workloads, and inadequate compensation. Many of us find ourselves overwhelmed, exhausted, and forced to sacrifice our time and personal lives, including evenings and weekends, just to keep up with the relentless demands and to meet the unyielding expectations. Moreover, we hesitate to embody the core value of 'being brave' at QVC and voice our concerns, fearing repercussions from the digital design line manager and senior management that could jeopardise our job security, raise and escalate tensions and/or potential conflict. Furthermore, the company fosters a culture of both misogyny and misandry including passive aggressiveness, particularly evident in close-knit team meetings led by the digital design line manager. Reports concerning work-related and environmental issues, as well as concerns for the health and well-being of employees including unfair treatment, are routinely dismissed by HR in a bid to protect the toxic status quo perpetuated by the digital design line manager and senior management. Overall, QVC UK maintains an unprofessional, toxic work culture that is particularly detrimental to both male employees and younger generations of women, including late Millennials and Gen Z. I urge anyone considering employment at QVC UK to steer clear and seek opportunities elsewhere. This company is not only detrimental to one's career but also poses significant risks to mental health and well-being. STAY AWAY - HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!
