      Pros

      The training/onboarding experience was excellent and thorough. I felt prepared and ready to make a difference in my role on the first day. The work here feels valuable. I feel we are truly making a difference in the industry and in customer lives. Qualia has a strong, welcoming culture of gratitude, hard work, and selflessness. They reward high performance and ensure that your career is developing as a whole. Opportunities to learn and grow are everywhere and I see myself here long term.

      Cons

      As with other small, private companies there are some differences such as no 401k match and a smaller office. Overall, this doesn't bother me given that I believe in the company's long term growth. For example, a sizable new office is opening soon!

      - Great balance of energy, culture and mission focus. - High accountability environment with lots of growth opportunity across the company - Strong base salary pay - Leadership has a clear vision and road map for short and longterm success

      - The benefits package could be better (no 401k match). - Very Slack dependent (kind of normal for a start up though)

      - Competitors are not at par with what Qualia offers. - Most individual contributors are great people who are genuinely kind and intelligent. - Unlimited PTO.

      Cons

      - Fear-based culture of power-tripping and egotistical manipulation. If you enjoy being interrupted while you speak or making critical decisions based on what leadership "feels like" doing, then Qualia is the place for you. - Rampant racism. I witnessed employees address HR on racist behavior and none of their concerns were taken seriously. - Leadership pretends the company is in a bubble that exists outside of the world. The words "pandemic" and "racial unrest" hold no meaning to them. - Subpar diversity & inclusion efforts. - No 401k match. Salary is not competitive.

      Pros

      Incredible growth potential. Management is open to hearing and implementing ideas. Modern workplace that will withstand the economic ups and downs. Unlimited vacation days.

      Cons

      Growing pains. Some of the processes are still being put in place. No 401k match, however, a competitive benefit package, salaries and generous stock options offset it in my opinion.

      Strong Mission. Culture of Kind Collaboration. Poised for Growth in a Lucrative Industry.

      Pros

      The main reason to join Qualia is it's technological lead and competitive positioning for Title and Escrow software. Consumer demand is pushing the industry for change and Qualia stands to be the beneficiary of that (1.6B recent valuation). Company stock options stand to be valuable. I've been most impressed that Qualia has followed on it's suggestion that 'everybody is really nice here.' I've never been around such a fusion of talented but kind + collaborative people. It motivates me to be a better and more helpful teammate. Onboarding is executed at a high level and the people ops team is the real deal.

      Cons

      The pace is fast and it's not for everybody. There is a robust onboarding, but then you should be prepared to hit the ground running quickly. It can be off-putting. I've had to put in some nights and weekend hours to do my job well. Fast growth and scale leads to growing pains, which isn't unexpected, but at the same time there are things that are not in place that should be. This is known and there are senior leaders being brought in to build the processes, but there is still a lot of work to do. The compensation is competitive but the benefits leave a bit to be desired compared to the market. No 401k match or professional development allowance is pretty disappointing. A few benefits that I was sold on turned out to be 'California-only' perks. Some departments have hiring standards that are not grounded in reality, and for scale and growth to continue as planned, they will need to adjust interviews to search for potential over pedigree.

      Extremely thoughtful onboarding, dominant product, awesome internal tools, great culture, lunches catered, cold brew on tap, beer in the fridge, and new office in the plans. Incredible sales momentum, deals coming in everyday and great leaders
