A lot of hassle for peanuts

- Once you understand/get into their system, it's pretty easy to navigate - Remote working is a benefit - Some of the production editors are helpful and easy to communicate with

Cons

- The pay is incredibly low -- £4.70 for proofreading; £42.17 for writing per 450 word content pieces -- for the level of 'perfection' expected (the quality of submissions is dubious to start with, although perhaps some clients don't care how boring and repetitive some of it is) - They are only able/willing to pay via PayPal; if there are any payment issues or problems, you have to take them up with PayPal, which can be very frustrating

Varying rates for freelancers

You get to work with some really good and interesting clients. Good for the old portfolio.

Cons

The pay does not always work out so well. It depends how well organised the in-house staff are, how good the training materials/brief are, and how good the training is. Some jobs are really well paid – it's kind of luck of the draw.
