Worst company I have worked for so far

Pros

Some nice people, free fruit one day a week, good location.

Cons

The place is an absolute shambles from start to finish, was brought in to work on a new account and it was beyond chaotic. Management is bad, no one cares if you work late or put any hard work in. They only seem to focus on the negatives of what you are doing and none of the positives.

Pros

Great location, some really lovely people, potential for some interesting work

Cons

The technical department in Crawley is its own P&L silo so they don't really act as a trusted partner to the creative agency in London which is obliged to use them. As a result their work is very expensive, often late and over-engineered which causes problems with the clients that the London team struggle to resolve. Some senior people in the account handling team are a bit too impressed with themselves and prone to bullying behaviour. Partly because they have been in the same role too long and are very comfortable and partly because the behaviour doesn't get challenged internally.

Pros

Award-winning agency with great work and talent within. Some great people and the canteen is a good subsidised benefit.

Cons

I was warned about RAPP before I joined, and now I warn others. It's very appealing from the outside, and I'm sure lots of people love the agency, but my experience was bitter. The culture was not what I hoped for (but I guess this depends on what account you work on). My line manager(s) were not interested in my personal progression, and didn't support me properly when I asked for it, which leaves me with bitter memories rather than pleasant ones about the company. From the moment I joined there were company meetings telling employees that payrises are delayed, and they they should also start to come into the office an extra day per week. I'm not against coming into the office, but management don't seem to think about how to communicate with or help their employees (a £5 lunch voucher won't cut it for most). Since I've joined my new agency, I've seen 4 people join from RAPP in 9 months, and we're only a small team.
