Pros

Great working space, company phones, good health plan, retreat once a year, team retrospective is is held outside at restaurant and bars. Piano in studio, singers sometimes sing after hours. Well named tech clients, story telling discovery and design process. Very open minded leadership, I come from international background and feel loved and respected during my employment!

Cons

Agile team but not agile design process sometimes due to a conservative director who dictates the design and client relationship. Agile team doesn’t work sometimes when working late is necessary and teammates doesn’t really help. Team manager is very busy at project coordination but not really taking time to manage team which lead my above point to be even worse. Company is inviting a lot of strategist coming to the decision making process which is sometimes a bad news for designers: making them the “hand”or “labor” and not as well connected as the strategist to the client and big picture. Very little real mentorship to young designers, we really need to be absolutely proactive and yells for mentorship rather than being pulled away for labor. Not being able to learn the systematically way of approaching design, improving tinyly.

Pros

Good team, although male heavy for sure. Rapt strives to build a team culture, has an annual company retreat, and often holds team building activities. I worked in the LA office which is quite different than SF, but I loved our LA office. Exciting clients and competitive pay.

Cons

The biggest con was alarmingly frequent lay offs and a very high turnover rate. I also felt somewhat micromanaged with heavy team meetings, check ins, roll call, etc.
