Pros

No boss, no 9 to 5 in an office setting

Cons

Ok so here is the deal with this company. During the interview process they throw out some big numbers on what you'll be expected to earn with them, it draws you in because who doesn't want to make big bucks right!? They teach you a very basic idea of the industry and commercial roofing. The company chases roofing insurance claims, even in areas where there isn't much storm damage. You will be out going business to business, just walking in blind (aka door knocking) asking the owner if you can inspect their roof for damage. They want you to door knock (aka solicit) at least 20 doors a day. Most of the time you're going to get push back from the owner or manager, refusing to let you inspect their roof, or it will be a building that you have no clue who the owner is or how to get in touch with them. Obviously you are coached to try and overcome these measures. All while you drive around town burning up your own gas, and your own money. The company doesn't have a lead system generator at all, they rely on their minions to drive around all over in order to land deals on the spot. So you better have at least 6 - 8 months of savings in your bank account in order to survive while your try and land a deal. if you do land a deal, which is hard unless you storm chase, then the company will pay you really good commission. Instead of investing their money into marketing and buying leads, they just pay you higher commission. Which is great sounding, but when you have no leads coming in and you're door knocking your butt off, your mindset will change and would rather get leads for less the commission. So to recap, no leads/ no salary / no fuel cards / no income what so ever unless you make a deal / and you need to have money saved up in order to pay your bills while you try and get this off the ground. this company experiences very very high turnover rate with their sales people because of all this. They churn and burn through sales people more than any company i know, and it's because of their business model. This is a very very hard company to be successful in, unless you have your own money to invest into marketing or you're already connected in the industry and hold very lucrative relationships already in the commercial large loss sector.

Pros

Someone has to be making money for the company to exist.

Cons

I was interviewed by two "managers" who had only been with the company a few months themselves. The whole time things felt off. Let me say first off I have found success in the cooperate world and am a military veteran so I know when something is off. The Austin office is a one person desk room that everyone shares unless your cold knocking businesses the owner is obviously never at. Most of the time you will be turned away and asked to leave as those tactics are very outdated. You will be a 1099 contractor meaning Restore Masters has no duty to take care of you and there is no base income. Mind you my two "managers" had never closed a deal themselves and the whole pay structure is set up like a multi level marketing business. These managers were actually other sales people whose job is to recruit you so they can profit from your deals and you are encouraged to recruit as well. Here is where it gets crazy, if you manage a miracle and close a deal (takes months to process by the way) it takes anywhere from 8-12 months to get paid and maybe longer as I never got a straight answer. Don't be a sucker. You are a person and deserve better than this scam. I have no resentment towards this company I just want to save you the weeks of free labor I did for this company and tell you what the job postings wont.

Pros

Huge profit potential, uncapped. Best commission structure for this kind of job. Excellent trips and learning opportunities if your manager has faith in you.

Cons

-Must expect minimal support -Must bring your own commission sales experience to succeed -Not very well vetted upon being hired, they have a sink or swim mentality right out of the gate -Purely independent contractual work, all incentives are sales-based -Precisely $0 to help you afford life until you get your first sale -Could be a year before you get any commissions -Any conflicts, miscommunications, or confusion with clients whatsoever could delay your payout indefinitely -Self-reliant roofing sales; Company assumes minimal liability for what happens to you since you’re independently contracted from day 1
