    Pros

Roka was such a great place to work. I loved my managers (I had quite a few in my 3 1/2 years), who invested a lot to help me grow. However, Roka was a small and growing company, so you had to keep up with the pace. There was a lot of turnover because folks who were just looking for a paycheck were not going to like Roka or be successful there. You had to be self-motivated and willing to adopt to change if you were going succeed.

    Cons

The worst part about Roka is that the senior leadership sold it to a company that fundamentally disagrees with Roka's values. Roka was about transparency and accountability to its customers. IEH is secretive and dishonest. It's very sad to see this advanced technology with so much potential be bought and squashed by a competitor that is entirely made of smoke and mirrors.

    The WORST

    Pros

Opportunity to learn a lot by wearing many different hats. Excellent technology. Exposure to poorly ran business gives insight into how NOT to run a business. Excellent location near many breweries.

    Cons

Too many to name. No follow through or accountability. Mid and low-level employees are left without direction. Opportunities to learn and grow are there but without anyone willing to teach they go wasted. Very little leadership. No collaboration. Big egos, big problems and prettiness. Company organization was a mess making efficient communication impossible. No communication leads to dissent. Many many issues here.

    Pros

Small Company, Many Different Projects, Work with a number of Different People

    Cons

Company is so top heavy it doesn't know what to do with itself. Higher Up's never tell lower downs whats going on with the company or projects until it is absolutely necessary. Constant lay-offs and peculiar co-workers.

Laughing stock of the foodborne illness pathogen detection industry

    Pros

Expired Coca-Cola, pretending to be amused with bad jokes with upper management. Everyday is an exercise in self depreciating company humour.

    Cons

Cronyism, wasteful human resources located in New Jersey for California operations. Dead-end job with no room for growth. Upper management places staff into cubicles while droves of offices surrounding cubicles are empty simply as a power play. Management ran the company into the ground while competitors gained a foothold. Within the industry Roka is the laughing stock with poor technology that has failed to launch and a haphazard, slipshod disorganized repair personnel department. The company has had 7 major lay-offs within the last 6 years with little or no warning to the poor souls that stuck with the beleaguered company through its' many financial blunders and catastrophes. The company was and currently is being investigated by the SEC for fraud rendering their stock worthless. They recently went bankrupt and had an asset sale to salvage the rest of the business so shareholders could get a few pennies to the dollar on their lost investments. There is no room for growth within this company and the work environment is stifling and oppressive. The management has clear favorites and punishes those which of whom do indeed have innovative ideas to steer the meandering train wreck of an organization back on track and par. The organization is similar to a playground of elementary children deciding to have a lemonade-stand business with a group of bullies during a recess.
