Pros

People in Cambridge office are exceptional Great pay and benefits

Cons

While there are some talented people in US, middle management can be extremely toxic and will make clear under no uncertain terms that you're there to shut up and do as they say. The "trust" culture that Roku was famous for is long gone. Sticking your head up will be surely met with incredible resistance and your ultimate dismissal so you should join only if you're happy to be (and treated like) a drone. No long term vision other than a couple of quarters ahead, they'll do anything to please the investors, who cares if the products/platform are becoming worse and worse just to extract more pennies out of advertisers.

Pros

- Good people in the team - Decent Salary for region, Regional average == 15k, large city average would be == 25k, Roku will pay you 23k as an example. - Smart people.

Cons

- Regional leadership teams are pathetic when American's swing around. - SW engineer focus. - Lack of trust. - Recruiters lie to get people in the job. - No raises. - Indirectly told X role isn't for your skill set as this is your title. - Leadership like to be dicktators. - Threatened to introduce PDP's if you want to have levels to your job roles. - Threatened to fire people if they do not use AI or automation. - Out of touch leadership. - One region specifically has a bunch of grown babies complaining about the tiniest of issues, from fridge doors not being closed, dropping coffee on a desk and needing assistance to clean, their chair not being comfortable to reminders about putting mugs in the dishwasher. - Some individuals talk to people as if they are software code.
