58% positive business outlook
Pros
Just a job to help pay the bill, some good co-workers
Cons
Bad benefit, managers don't give a crap about you, micromanagement, hostile work environment. The managers are so desperate to hire people so they made up all those fake nice reviews to fool people. They are constantly hiring new people because not a lot of people stay here for more than a year.
Pros
A good work environment with lots of support. Happy to be a part of the team!
Cons
I don't have any issue with the company.
Pros
Fast paced environment, good for those looking to grow their knowledge and skill-set quickly Great coworkers that make for an enjoyable work environment Lots of opportunity for growth
Cons
Lack of official/accrued sick-days was my biggest complaint.
Pros
Pay was good, easy hire, good starting point for getting YOE, pay was high for entry level and no exp especially if just out of college
Cons
Work politics, too chill work environment, too many coworkers not hard working enough, only work here if you want to work for the DoD because it may not be the tech stack or projects you want to work on.
Pros
Great environment to work as a new starter
Cons
They have to support their workers
Pros
Small company allows you to take on responsibilities outside your original role.
Cons
The turnover rate is blistering at this company, and it's no surprise why. Very often, taking on other responsibilities isn't recognized. Lack of trust in employees creates a hostile and stifling work environment. No executive leadership besides very absent CEO and CTO. CEO plays favorites and it's painfully obvious. No job training makes everyone feel like they don't know what's expected of them. No sick leave. What else can I say about that? No room for upward movement.
Pros
Great benefits Great work environment
Cons
Pay (to some people, but contracts were being reviewed before I left so it could be better now)
Pros
Rewarding, fast-paced environment that an aspiring professional would thrive in. SOLUTE’s vibrant culture offers a work environment second to none. With the rapid growth of the company, there are an infinite number of opportunities to grow professionally. I have been at SOLUTE for over a year and continue to be amazed at the quality workforce the company attracts. Some of the brightest engineers in the industry work here! The company goes out of its way to retain its talent even when a contract ends. Companies in this industry quickly cut ties with you once a contract you are assigned to ends. SOLUTE goes out of its way to find billable work. These opportunities allow software engineers, devops engineers, network engineers, etc. to continue to grow professionally. If you are an ambitious person you will undoubtedly thrive at SOLUTE. The company goes above and beyond to properly award individuals (bonuses or pay increases, promotions, etc.).
Cons
Standardization of formal training for new hires can be invigorated. With that being said, I have already seen steps being taken by Senior Management to streamline training for new employees.
Pros
Solute is a small-biz government/defense contractor. I worked in that sector for a good number of years, and think that most companies do a reasonably good job -providing a comfortable work environment, and fulfilling contract deliverables. With that said, what I think sets SOLUTE apart: A) Flat hierarchy, so people don't get locked in to project silos; easy to collaborate with people across the organization (been easy to get help) ; CEO - John Lyons and CTO - Michael MacFadden are very responsive and very easy to reach. B) Projects focus on new/emerging software development technologies - gave me a chance to work on solving interesting problems and learn/apply some of the latest technologies (DevOps, Kubernetes, GoLang, C++17). C) Lots of new work coming in - as long as you show good work, don't need to worry about having a billable project to work on In summary, while my duration with SOLUTE was fairly short due to personal circumstance, I really enjoyed my time at the company, and if given the right opportunity, would gladly continue.
Cons
Benefits package was Ok for a small business, but bigger companies are able to offer more: relocation assistance, low cost benefits for spouse/dependants. All in all - not a huge differentiator (especially for young/single), but something to keep in mind.
Pros
Great work environment and culture, Competitive salaries for the industry, Excellent benefits.
Cons
You might work on a contract held by Solute and eventually be traded to a new company when that DOD contract is rewarded and the new company will be......
