Pros

some people are really nice

Cons

The WORST company to ever work for. This company in the solihull area is full of complete micromanagement bosses who continuously puts pressure on you to do the work. There is never a slight sort of appreciation but in every single 1-1 there is always negative no matter how much work you've done or no matter how high the quality is. On a day to day basis , the management ALWAYS monitor yours performance and every ticket is assed by the manager. That is typically the role of my manager . If there is ever a slight customer complain then its always your fault. With 7+ years of experience in the IT field I have never been so micromanaged in my life. There is always politics in companies but this is the worst. Management always talks behind your back in meetings and are not transparent. I could write forever but i hope whoever is reading this does not apply and make the same mistake i went through.

Pros

Met a couple of good professionals there (most of them have left the company already and I don't blame them!)

Cons

Total lack of strategy, goals and values. Senior management is a joke. They dont care about people and have no morale. Feedback is not welcome. They have no idea what leadership, corporate culture, and team building is about. This company lives in the 70s. HR is non existent, not sure what they actually do (except for writing nice responses to Glassdoor feedback). Turnover must be really high, people were abandoning the company every single day. Don't waste your time and career path on a company that has absolutely nothing to offer, unless you are totally desperate. I know people who have been with SOTI for several years; they are low educated managers with no skills, no previous experience and very limited career options. The rest of us moved on as fast as we could.

Pros

- if you ever want a career in politics and need a platform to test your skills, this is the place to do it. Even Trump would struggle to deal with the politics in this place. - theres two ways to work here, either do your 9-5 and take the pay check skipping through blissfully OR try and advance your career to be faced by self centred leadership destorying any idea of work/life balance - If you manage to survive the above and avoid being in a few senior staff members "black book" you have the chance to progress - Handful great staff left within the company, some of which have fantastic industry experience, in other environments they would be great mentors for junior members of staff but this isn't allowed to happen due to bad staffing decisions and overly aggressive targets. - Great place to get experience on your CV before bigger, better tech companies come to Toronto - Aggressive turnover within the last year has opened lots of positions - Good market to work in, lot's of opportunities especially as partners begin to look at competitor solutions and continue to grow.

Cons

- Customer no longer comes first - Heavily unstable core product, with initial releases being held back from large customers due to lack of faith in it. This can be found throughout the company but most notably in some of the most technical staff. - Room sharing to cost save, but wait... - There is so little trust in regional offices they would rather fly out hand picked staff from Canada and incur the costs accociated with it than use local resources - Pretty obvious deep routes of racism and sexism at higher levels of staff, which can be visually seen in upper management and the staff that attend tradeshows respectively - You are just a number - Poor internal communication
