Poor Morale and Greedy Owner (both of these points are related)

Pros

Great staff (until they see the light and finally leave for a more grateful employer!) and some great clients (who probably find it too expensive to move service providers)

Cons

Greedy owner with no care about the welfare of his staff (although will try to convince people he does care). Staff are overworked and underpaid without any material thank you or appreciation for their efforts.

Saltgate great for career development

Pros

In my experience Saltgate is an agile company where you can make a real difference to process and technology by positively contributing. Saltgate Giving means that individuals have between £500 and £1000 each year to give to a charity of their choice. Flexible working means that you can have 1 or 2 days a week working from home and in the summer the Saltstice scheme means you can start or end your working days a couple of hours early or late one day per week. The team I work with are great and I enjoy being in the office with them.

Cons

There are times when you are stretched as it is quite a small team and if someone is only willing to do their exact job description they may feel stressed. Not an issue to me as I enjoy the additional challenge.

-People are nice and friendly -flat hierarchy -hybrid working environment

Cons

-management is not good, system and processes are weak/inefficient -leadership are not very knowledgeable -endless work, understaffed/ leadership staff always stressed -endless client demands and expectations which cannot be met -lots of overtime is necessary (not compensated for) -lots of on the job learning, no proper training provided -working environment is not good -high pressure and lots of work and deadlines -not many benefits at all -no work life balance
