I worked at Savills full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Excellent Company Benefits - Enhanced Maternity Pay - 25 Days Holiday with option to buy a further 5 days - Cycle to work scheme / Help paying for public transport - Lots of employee discounts - Generous pension scheme - Healthcare plans / benefits - Discretionary annual bonus Great offices / location / facilities Good team for the most part

    Cons

    - Often felt like a number in such a large company - Impersonal relationships with managers / senior staff - ‘Us Vs Them’ barrier between staff level employees & above - Little room for professional development. More often than not, people seem to be promoted to ‘associate’ after 3-5 years of glowing service. This appears to be a method of making people feel valued with a shiny title & meagre pay rise.... These roles seem to be generated to keep people happy, as the responsibility of this ‘progression’ doesn’t seem to change an employees responsibilities that much. If anything, openings for such a role actually breeds a very specific teachers-pet kind of individual - No flexible working (for most people) - Cliquey culture - Blame culture - Old fashioned company values - Training not great from the start - One set of rules does NOT apply to all

    Advice to Management

Be more personable with all members of staff - take the time to get to know everyone Be genuine & get involved with whole team Follow up on all promises with regards to training Take team building events more seriously Try to implement flexible working / WFH Focus on segregation of duties for each department / individual

I have been working at Savills full-time

    Pros

Depends on the team, but I sense they are trying to move into the right direction. They care about employees more so now after the turnover of staff Not expected to do long hours

    Cons

They have a matrix in place for career progress, but it is VERY slow! very backdated no laptops old school vibes no skype Very hierarchical can feel like being at school sometimes office always dead silent (some might like this) No flexibility to work from home

I worked at Savills full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Fair pay and good working hours. Good benefits (health and pension). Good maternity leave and parents support.

    Cons

very English-old money. You mind find yourself being the only women in the meeting (especially on higher level). If you are not English you might be laughed at occasionally.

    Advice to Management

One person shouldn't make big business decisions based on their personal issues or feelings. Look at getting external consultants to assess what needs changing as changes and "improvements" seem chaotic . Additionally an online workshop on how not to be racists is not the way of solving a huge problem in the company's culture.
