Software development process is deficient. Design work is generally not done, things are just "coded" until they work. Uneven treatment of developers. Some are accorded "privileges" such as working from home, while others are not. Salary range is excessively broad for essentially the same work. It seems petty, but industry standards regarding vacation time are not observed. Bonuses are paid (quarterly) but are heavily weighted to favor the lowest level, and the bonus monies appear to be budgeted (furthering the bias towards the low end.) Finally, there is no clear path for career development. Short of purging existing management to make room, there are no positions available for advancement. While there is some promotion from within, it's very spotty and appears to involve a certain amount of favoritism. Future product development has a sort of "Titanic" ambiance; there are ice bergs in the vicinity... Well then, full speed ahead!!! Aye aye, sir!
