Pros

I worked there a few years back. It was my first IT gig after having completed my Comptia A+ cert. The people I worked with were awesome. Very friendly and genuinely open to helping you when you. Very friendly and the atmosphere within the "bull pen" is quite nice and enjoyable.

Cons

There's a few things I that weren't so pleasant. The business itself heavily relies on a few big clients and the upper management really make you bend over backwards for them when they call in. Stay in late, take verbal abuse over the phone, even send an onsite tech for low priority issues, you name it. I remember I was written up just because a client over the phoned demanded I be and I had no say in the matter. This was when I knew I had to get out of there. Upper management is very high stress and will lash out if you mess up. Extremely inappropriate behavior towards the techs. A company that doesn't allow you to mess up also doesn't allow you to grow. I never once saw them choose their employees over their clients.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective of your time with Scout. August 2019 was a long time ago and while a lot has changed since then, our core values remain our focal point within the organization. We are a service organization and while I would agree we need to provide outstanding customer service (to our customers and ourselves), I disagree that it requires our team to take any form of abuse to provide that service, nor do we allow it (then or now). It’s been an intentional choice to surround ourselves with amazing customers and employees and we’ve had to make hard decisions to end relationships when we encounter companies or individuals that don’t align with this. This philosophy has always been in place, even during your time with us. I agree there have been stressful situations, back then and now, but I will say that in 4 years we have increased our professionalism, even during the high stress scenarios. We hold each other accountable to extend respect and kindness to everyone we interact with. However, no one is perfect, we acknowledge that. We know that a good mistake is the best way to learn and ensure that we don’t make the same mistake again and that makes us better employees, partners, friends and people. Looking back, I’m sorry you didn’t feel comfortable sharing this till now. It has always been important for us to create a safe environment where people feel comfortable sharing anything that is going on without fear of repercussions. I feel we’ve come a long way, but are always looking for areas to improve so thank you again for sharing your thoughts!

Pros

-Amazing company culture (no worries of politics but rather mutually-assured success) -So many learning opportunities (both in tech and sales; diverse client base greatly increases the learning potential) -Fun company events -Amenities included in office building

Cons

-Responsibilities can shift as the company continues to grow each year, but with all the communication that the leadership team prioritizes this shouldn't be an issue. Rather, it's an opportunity for growth

Pros

Get your feet wet or take the plunge into diverse technologies with opportunities to learn and grow. Scout encourages collaboration, there are no silos of knowledge and everyone is willing and passionate to learn and help. IT can be a high stress environment but the leadership team and company making coming to work feel like coming home.

Cons

Scout is poised to grow rapidly, you'll need to learn diverse customer base and be willing to own complex problems. If not for personal reasons if still be here.
