Great learning opportunity, poor compensation management

Pros

I love that this is a fast-paced startup environment that is highly innovative. I've learned a great deal in my time here that I wouldn't have in other places. You get to "wear many hats," regardless of your seniority, which I learn a lot from. There's a lot of camaraderie throughout the company also: discussion spaces for non-work related topics, social gatherings, wellness activities.

Cons

Pay is definitely not competitive with other Pittsburgh tech companies. The process around pay, compensation adjustments, and performance is still a work in progress. A lot of people seem to be leaving for this reason and it's a shame to lose talent this way. This is especially true if there are a lot of pros to working at the company otherwise. Like another review said, it's more costly to keep onboarding new people than to retain talented people. The revolving door of people, over time, is not good for team cohesiveness either, and also will look bad for new people that come onboard, as the company continues to expand.

Pros

Pretty laid back work environment with good people and reasonable deadlines. Permanent remote work, but you can work in office if you like. Dogs at work. Health insurance is paid for by company.

Cons

Compensation is not super competitive.

Pros

Very smart and great people to work with. Company seems to have somewhat of a future.

Cons

In my position, many people have come and gone; I completely understand why they don’t stay in this position. Management is not so great, and compensation is not well either, so why would I stay to get treated badly by the manager and not get paid that well. I would advise people to stay away from this position. When I was looking for another job, I was called out and told that I was very unprofessional for looking for another job. I don’t consider it unprofessional to look for another job but unprofessional to call me out in front of peers over this.
