      Greedy, cliquish and weak upper management

      Pros

      The company has been around for over 90 years and is well know in the business as a real estate and multi-family organization. The Seldin name is respected.

      Cons

      There is a lot of cronyism within the upper ranks of management, so it is difficult to advance within the company if you aren't close to those in charge, regardless of your skills. This isn't unique to Seldin Company, but it goes against the principles of Mr. Seldin, who must be dying a little inside to see this as his legacy.

      Pros

      A 90 year history of being a great company-unfortunately going down the tubes, maybe within a year

      Cons

      Promoting Bob Dean to President/CEO will be the death of this once great company. He has no regard for anyone but himself. He threatens and bullies employees until they either quit on their own or he fires those that don't. If you don't do everything as Mr. Dean wants (sometimes what he wants isn't even legal), the bullying starts until you quit or are fired. With a 60% turnover rate since Mr. Dean's promotion, can't the owners see the mistake.

      Pros

      The majority of the people who work for Seldin are hard working and want to do a good job for the company. Good benefits.

      Cons

      The people at the top, who also keep changing regularly, move people around like they don't matter. The training is for a couple of days, then you're on your own and are only told when you do something wrong. Not how to fix it, or if anything you do is right. And the direction you're given will change randomly. Pay is not competitive with the market, and not consistent with other employees doing the exact same job with the same experience.
