Toxic workplace

Pros

Remote working - some good collegues.

Cons

Senior leadership at this company are controlling, manipulative and micromanaging. Very toxic environment. Any ideas on improvements put forward are constantly ignored. People here think that age or position makes them more powerful and knowledgeable which is not the case. Shocking decline in company culture. No body here goes to work and wants to work here anymore. A lot of the company have ‘checked out’, ‘given up’ and doing the bare minimum. There is no recognition for good work or praise. Company culture is zero. All activities, kudos, incentives and team building scrapped. There is no company culture as people who have great performances get layed off while others with low performance stay. All of this gives employees low moral and no motivation. Mental health is not of an importance here. Even if you work your hardest, work over hours and perform your best - you are still stressed due to management and leadership constantly controlling and scrutinising you. Many of the leadership team have had complaints raised against them and been ignored. If there was no HR team here - it would be no different to the way it is now. The HR team constantly dismiss or ignore and does nothing for employees here. A lot of HR policies are ignored. - No work life balance - No team activities - All budget scrapped for Christmas parties - All teams outside of the West coast office ignored - HR department who do nothing - No maternity leave policy If you want to work for a company where you are controlled and told what to do, where your ideas on improvements are ignored, micromanaged, constantly stressed, and then given no recognition for your good work. Then this is the company for you.

Pros

Flexible hours, autonomy to get on with your work (depending on your manager), some friendly co-workers. I would say remote work was a pro, but they seem to be moving away from this and wanting people in the office more and more.

Cons

Several rounds of layoffs in the past year. They are panicking because they know the product is only a nice to have and not a necessity, so churn is high and barely any sales are coming in given the current climate. By far the worst culture of anywhere I have worked before, it can be very toxic and there is a nasty 'us vs. them' mentally between teams / departments. Lots of egos go unchecked, several managers are known to be unpleasant to work with but nothing is done about it. The future doesn't look bright and everyone is ready to leave. I barely knew who the co-founders were for my first few months because they are so disconnected from the business. No transparency, people in the same role will be on wildly different salaries.

Pros

I work with fantastic clients and really friendly, knowledgeable and supportive colleagues. Great pay and career progression is available providing you can demonstrate competency within your role. The product provides real value, provides trusted data and is. The choice to WFH or go to the office is available. You are trusted to deliver your work with minimal micro-management. Great onboarding process.

Cons

No real cons that are specific to Sensor Tower. The role of CSM in any ad tech company is quite demanding. A lot of technical knowledge to learn and be able to confidently present a fair few demo's / QBRs - but that's the job right?! Also Ad Tech lay offs always round the corner however Sensor Tower appear to be pretty solid when it comes to the numbers. Meetings can be early or late depending on time zones, but is not too common and usual to a global company.
