Pros

1) Free Food 2)Uniforms are provided 3)Have transportation facility

Cons

1) Harassment , Bullying & Abuses Being a Japanese organisation , any one who is a sitting duck for more than 20 years become a management staffs . These incompetent management staff , who are ignorant of real world situations doesn't add any sort of values to the organisation as they don't have work to do and hence they spend their time by entertaining themself by abusing , harrassing & bullying the employees. 2)Low Salary & reasonable bonus. Shimano hedge their risk by paying low salary(fixed income from employees perspective) but provide reasonable bonus at the same time ( non fixed income from employees perspective). In short working in Shimano generally doesn't give any or even low advantage to employees in term of earning . But in the other hand , the HR department always highlight the bonus while hiring ( trapping) new employees . Anyone who lacks basic calculation ability will fall for the trap unless salary is not their priority. 3) Micro management . All employees will be micro managed . Cameras are installed almost every where .Things like the way the employees walk , standing postures , sitting posture , the way you talk , or mail , tap in / out time , break time etc are monitored . In short it feels like being in a prison where we are payed for staying . 4) No break. Being a Japanese organisation punctuality is given high priority. Two tea breaks of 10 minutes each are allotted, which cannot be utilised as reaching the canteen itself consumes more time . By the way employees are not allowed to have tea/ coffee or snack at their seat as it is against Japanese work culture . 5) Lunch break is only 5- 10 minutes. 25 minutes lunch break are allotted out of which only 5- 10 minutes remain after walking to canteen , Q up for food & Q up for scanning . In short the employees have to swallow the free lunch . 6) Poor inter employees relationship. Most of the employees are afraid to talk with each other during working hours as the management staff will be monitoring . Lack of proper tea break and lunch break make things even worse. For new employees its challenging to adapt to the company atmosphere due to the lack of communication. 7) Poor Safety Safety should be given first priority and hence my apologize for mentioning it as 7th point . In Shimano SSIP plant usually there will be around 2- 6 fire alarm every month , but the employees are either not evacuated nor allowed to run for their own safety. Employees are asked to be at their place if the fire alarm goes on. 8) Poor to no network . The new Shimano SSIP plant have poor or no phone network . It's challenging In case any employee want to search for another job as the hand phone will be not reachable . 9) Accessibility The new Shimano SSIP plant is not easily accessible via public transportation .
