I worked at Showsec part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Reasonably flexible if needs be. Can have loads of fun on some shifts and work and learn things you never thought you would. - Reasonable pay for certain tasks. - Good job if you like events and need something part time. Ideal for students or a second job for holiday money - Some supervisors and staff are a pleasure to work with and will have your back.

    Cons

-Exploiting and non-compassionate management who refuse to listen to their supervisors and staff and book you onto shifts without even asking and expecting you to dedicate your life to the company -HR and Admin departments slow and bureaucratic. -Good luck if you fall ill, they'll replace you within a second. No loyalty towards staff but expected devotion to the company from everyone. Don't do this as an only job...it...

      Cons

        Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Showsec part-time for more than a year

        Pros

Choose your hours of work SOME of the employees are great - but if your face doesn't fit (or you're not into sleeping around - then forget it.

        Cons

Clique crowd Supervisors are power mad and will shout and abuse stewards in public Incestuous Rubbish pay Lots of really stupid stewards who are clearly just in it for the money - they don't care about crowd management or looking after people - how did they get in?

        Advice to Management

sort out your staff, get rid of the rubbish ones and look after those that work hard - esp the skivers at the end of the shifts at MCFC / barriers

I worked at Showsec part-time for more than a year

          Pros

Variety of events . Get to see some great acts

          Cons

Long hours travelling ie 2.5 hours each way for a 5 hour shift . No pay for traveling. Often get cancelled off shift due to overbooking. Supervisors and managers have their favourites and very click. Can be working alone ie on a road closure with no radio or supervisors contact number - (dangerous) After supervisors forget to give people breaks.

          Advice to Management

Make sure staff are not left alone with no radio or way to contact supervisors
