Pros

It's a job, they will pay you, and it's decent technical experience for those getting in on the ground floor.

Cons

If you have a family, and enjoy spending time with them, don't work here. No raises. No performance review process. High turnover. No appreciation from management. Poor internal communication. High burnout amongst engineers. Very high expectations for on-call. Work from home is pitched as a benefit, but management won't let you use it without repercussions. No space to grow, no positions to get promoted to. Backhanded comments. Shaming in front of whole teams when mistakes are made. Shaming from management in front of company when actions taken are not what they want. Lack of formal training. No onboarding process. Lots of after-hours emails, with expectation of quick response, even if not on call. Flex time not automatically given, even if long overnight shifts are put in. Lots of out-of-date hardware and software internally.

Pros

A stepping stone in a career path. Some of the employees are nice. (Not management). Working here was a nice stepping stone before moving on to a real job.

Cons

Extremely poor work conditions. The management is rude, often berating those who work there to help justify the low salaries. I watched numerous coworkers verbally harassed and insulted during the time I worked here. The promotions are non-existent. We were told that every 6 months there was an evaluation, but no evaluation was attempted. The management performs many shady practices.

Good people, terrible management

Pros

As stated above, there are some really good people at the company. Alot of smart people who want to work, and solve problems.

Cons

The problems start and end with this company at the CEO. I would say as a person he is a nice guy, but his actions show the complete opposite. He belittles, bullies, and harasses his employees. He is on every distro email he can be, and butts in to nearly every one. He promises things to customers he absolutely cannot deliver on, with no regard for your personal time. His expectations of his employees is astronomical, and you will never get a raise. You will be on call nearly 24/, and expected to respond to emails 24 hours a day. There is more, but that is enough to paint the picture.
