Great culture and benefits, but does appear to be in trouble

Pros

Above market compensation. Great benefits on top of pay. Fantastic culture. Product development is finally picking up after 2 years of stagnation, but it might be too late...

Cons

The best time to be at Skedulo appears to have been and gone. 2 sudden and painful layoffs in '22 have damaged morale, and now people are leaving in droves. So many people have left in '23 so far that it almost feels like there's been another layoff. Finance are clamping down on everything, meaning headcount isn't being replaced. Everyone is stressed with the additional workload they are having to take on. Bonuses from the end of '22 were not paid despite most people hitting the defined criteria, the training budget has been slashed and there's very little budget for any kind of employee social gatherings. On top of this, the new bookings target has been missed several quarters in a row, and several large customers have churned. Sadly, the company does seems to be in trouble.

Pros

Working from home (no offices).

Cons

On the outside Skedulo has created 'perception' that its in great shape and everything is rosy. This is unfortunately far from the truth. Once upon a time I'm sure it was a nice boutique software company, but started drinking its own kool-aid, got investors drinking the kool-aid, got a bunch of new recruits drinking the kool-aid and... hasn't delivered the results. Skedulo now has a 100+ new hires to support with declining revenues. I hope they will be able to turn things around but its going to be messy. Sales leadership needs fixing as the culture has taken a steep dive in recent months. An acceleration in staff and customer churn at Skedulo means that consistency and growth will be unobtainable if the tide doesn't turn.
