Pros

Good wage. Good employee treatment if you drink the cool-aid and rub shoulders with HR.

Cons

Personality oriented company, not skills oriented. Limited experience in management. Very high turnover rate; literally every management position had at least one turnover and the Project Manager and Superintendent positions each had 4 turnovers in 2 years. Lack mentors with qualifying experience. New office location with no local market experience.

Pros

Working in wastewater, you get to work with some brilliant minds. For the most part, the team I worked with was laid back. The parent company that bought them is MWH which is a benefit in and of itself to have access to all the MWH staff as a resource.

Cons

The "HR" department was a nightmare. When people are afraid of the HR staff, you know you have a problem. When the HR staff is openly gossiping and sharing personal details about employees to OTHER employees, you know you have a problem. There was a big problem with the management. It seemed as though the managers knew how to run a project, but not how to run/manage people. We had to have multiple project team therapy sessions where they would bring in a counselor for us to air our grievances about management. Nothing changed. The sexism was alive and kicking. I would advise against ANY woman working here if you have a true desire to excel in the construction industry outside of accounting and clerical work. I would have to say the worst thing about working here was the constant closed door meetings. Everything was always a secret, always hush hush. I prefer to work for a company that is transparent about their intentions for a project and for the team as a whole.
