Skating or rollerblading inside is never fun, can be dangerous. On your feet your entire shift, unless given a 30 minute break. Breaks are usually given based on the current labor or overall busyness of the store. Making shakes and Sonic Blasts can get messy. Extremely limited hours during the Winter season. A shift in the Winter may only consist of 2 kitchen workers, 1 person working in Drive-Through, 1 Carhop if needed, and 1 supervisor/manager. Overall not a great Winter job for the Carhop position. If you plan to work here during the Winter, which I do not recommend, I would highly suggest you become very familiar with working in Drive-Through or opt to learn to work in the kitchen. You can't expect even a$0. 25 raise unless you have been working at the location for at least 1 year. Overtime is also extremely rare to get because any extra pay you receive from your overtime wage is usually subtracted from your boss's bonus, so obviously overtime is not offered normally whatsoever. Moving on, I personally am not in a managerial position, however my coworkers who are Assistant Managers often are upset with their wage and it being too low. My friend who works with me is an Assistant Manager and has told me that Manager's usually start at only $9 an hour. That is only a $0.75 raise from the minimum wage in our state, Illinois. Him and the other managers often search for other jobs around the time they become managers because they don't make tips, only earn an extra $0.75-$1.75 compared to their previous pay, and hold a lot more responsibilities and duties as a manager. If tips were accounted for, a Carhop at $8.25 per hour may make more money than an Assistant Manager at $9.00 an hour. Managers can make less money than entry-level carhops, who don't have nearly as many responsibilities or tasks to complete on a shift-to-shift basis as managers do. Managers aren't paid enough for their job duties and responsibilities at all in my opinion and from my personal experiences seeing all the tedious and somewhat complicated tasks they are required to do during their shifts.
Summary: Skating is not fun and can be dangerous, limited hours and very few tips during Winter, Manager positions are underpaid, No benefits, Overtime is basically non-existent unless it is verbally offered by the General/Store Manager at your location.
