Pros

Office has views of Lake Union. There are still some very good engineers left to work with and learn from.

Cons

Spaceflight used to be called Andrews Space but it is now effectively a startup with a lot of politics. Upper management can't manage and there is constant infighting and inability to do anything on the engineering side. People fall in and out of favor, problems get escalated and ignored, decisions get made without engineer input. The work environment is frustrating if you care about what you're doing and are trying to do the right thing, otherwise there's very little oversight or organization. There is very high staff turnover as people realize things aren't going to change or go anywhere and find other jobs. Interview candidates disappear into a black hole or wait months to hear back. Sometimes an open position is funded and then a week later it's not, no one knows what's going on. Most of the better staff are actively looking for new jobs and are giving up.

Pros

Small company with opportunity for employees to take product ownership Only Seattle aerospace company with offices in the city instead of the suburbs Much lower median age than most aerospace companies

Cons

High stress environment Management does not understand tradeoff between doing things quickly and doing things well The CEO (Jason Andrews) has been known to yell at people, including mid level engineers

Pros

Some great eng talent and interesting technology

Cons

People are in and out of favor depending on how much you want to kiss managements but. Management has zero ability to run a technology company but their egos get in the way. Management makes tech decisions and when it fails they blames the eng team.
