Pros

There are no pros to working here only downside

Cons

If you want to be ruled by fear, micromanagement to death and have more value placed on completing the non sales value added activities that they require to do then work here. You will be overworked and undervalued. There is no true sales leadership here and upper management can't keep key items in stock and keep adding more and more middle management with no clue how to do their job. Employees are scared to give their opinions in fear of being negatively targeted.

We are sorry that your experience at Spectrum has been a negative one. We encourage you to reach out to your HR representative to see if we can help mediate some of the challenges you are experiencing. We truly care what our team members think. We conduct quarterly anonymous surveys to gather feedback and identify areas where we can improve our organization and culture. Since our last survey in December, we have followed up with each department to share the results and collaborate on a team-by-team basis on what’s working and what’s not. These action plans and dynamic conversations with employees are helping us gain a clearer understanding of what employees are seeing and feeling so we can address their concerns -- as well as do more of the things that give them a sense of great satisfaction. This has allowed leadership at all levels to have a true pulse on what’s happening within the organization. Our next survey is scheduled to be deployed in April 2022, so please let us know what you think of our progress in the areas you have identified as needing improvement. We are also working hard to break down silos. That includes encouraging collaboration across departments as well as providing more direct access between employees and management via our flattened leadership structure. We are proud that our leaders regularly walk the halls and know each employee by name. We know transparency is important, so we are facilitating more two-way communication between management and our teams. We conduct weekly town halls with all employees to provide updates on the current state of our business, share success stories, as well as recognize team members individually for their contributions via shoutouts. Finally, we are proud that our team members worked together to successfully deliver key performance wins and growth in 2021. It was a banner year for our organization despite significant global supply constraints and other challenges. Our team rose to the occasion and we shared that success by reinvesting back into our business and our people through financial rewards and workplace improvements.

Pros

Good benefits, and coworkers that care.

Cons

Most of the negative feedback here is accurate. The company seems stuck in outdated practices, with high turnover and the CEO/founder's son now leading, which doesn't bode well for improvement. Despite promises of change and inclusivity, there's a pervasive sense of ego and control from the top, stifling the potential of smart employees. It's like the worst-case scenario is the norm. The "family" atmosphere feels toxic, with good people leaving for no reason while others, less deserving, stay. HR's heavy involvement seems more a symptom of poor leadership and hierarchy than a solution. The company lacks culture, efficiency, and coherent direction, having changed strategies five times in the past year without clear vision. It’s the dead leading the blind. Please at least press them on issues if you’re going to take a job here. Also make sure you negotiate compensation and extra benefits cause they’ll lowball you. Lastly, expect zero career advancement or coaching. Everyone in leadership promotes themselves for lack luster performance while everyone else gets told no.
