How To Lose Revenue And Disengage People

Pros

There are some talented friendly people working here, and the experience will prepare you well for any other challenges you might face in future volatile work environments. Flexible working from home means an opportunity for work-life balance. They invest well in IT systems and software tools for their teams

Cons

Honestly, it's hard to know where to start here. TLDR: There are so many issues with this company I can't imagine how they can be resolved at this point as the core problems are poor management and communication right from the very top. Chaotic strategy and execution, mismanagement of expectations with investors and unrealistic expectations falling on to front line sales, customer success, and sales engineers. Avoid this company at all costs. In full: - Management does not listen to feedback from employees regarding market challenges, or even multiple reports of bullying. Taking too long to react to reports on these issues created long-term damage to the culture, morale, and revenue generation for the company, especially in certain EMEA territories. -Poorly thought-through strategy and execution, and mismanaged expectations with investors has ultimately led to shifting of responsibility downstream and increasing targets for teams who have no hope of realistically meeting expectations. - Product is a 'nice to have' not a 'must have' for customers - The best performing sales reps in EMEA take 3 or 4 years to just hit their target - Considering the solution Staffbase sells is for communication, transparency and employee engagement, Staffbase has done an incredible job of showing exactly how badly things can go when you don't create a culture of active listening and engagement. - Transparency in communication (such as that around recent layoffs) has been terrible with little to no acknowledgment from senior management for their mistakes, such as bad acquisition decisions being a contributing factor that led to a poor financial situation for the company.

Thank you for the feedback. We're glad to hear that you've had the opportunity to work with talented and friendly colleagues, and that you believe your experience here can prepare you for future challenges in dynamic work environments. Our commitment to flexible working arrangements and investment in IT systems and tools is something we take pride in, as it reflects our dedication to creating a positive work environment. We deeply regret that you've encountered challenges during your time here. Your concerns regarding management, communication, and strategic execution are noted, and we understand the critical importance of addressing these issues. It's concerning to hear that feedback about market challenges has not been acted upon promptly. We take such matters seriously and will work to improve our response mechanisms. Your advice on listening more closely to our employees is well-received. We believe that listening to our team members is crucial in improving our organization, and we have measures in place (quarterly employee surveys, feedback talks with direct reports, anonymous letterbox for upper management questions) that ensure we are attentive to your feedback. If you have any additional comments or suggestions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our PX department (join@staffbase.com) or relevant managers. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

The image painted prior to joining is spectacular and the hiring process well constructed unfortunately reality is very different.

Cons

This is not a people-first, second or third company. They try really hard to make it seem like it is and you may be fooled for a while but will catch on within a couple of months. While there are positives to working here, I’d highly recommend not joining Staffbase if you have over 1 or 2 years of experience. The familiocracy is rediculous in the go-to-market teams. Very weak management team and plenty of people are recording their 1:1 conversations due to inconsistent and inaccurate and mistrustful behavior by managers. Team members in other offices are ambushed by HR conversations. Trumped-up allegations and inconsistent statements on performance and achievements while everyone is at the same level of performance across multiple offices. Are we next?! Very disappointing organisation

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! We fully acknowledge your concerns, and while it's true that working at Staffbase can come with challenges, change is a constant with fast growing companies like Staffbase and there are certainly processes we can implement to do better. We are currently providing various opportunities for employees to reach out to not only HR but managers and even our CEO through routine check-ins and feedback surveys (where we escalate any concerns with upper management for discussion). We also currently working on restructuring how we do our feedback meetings (upwards feedback from employee to manager as well as peer to peer) We strive to always do better by our employees and be as transparent as possible, whether through providing weekly video updates and monthly town halls where our CEO can address any questions and provide an update on the business. When hiring, we ensure candidates are given as open a picture as possible of what it would be like to work at Staffbase by structuring our onsite interviews like a normal a day in the office where they are given the opportunity to interact with other members from the team. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors and always have an open door for open communication and further feedback. You can reach out to us via px@staffbase.com

A bizarre cult selling an MVP into a saturated market..

Pros

- A few nice opportunities to travel. - Some great team members. - Some good up to date systems for booking travel and expenses etc.

Cons

- Inexperienced and often directionless management. - Product looks, feels and behaves like something from the early iPhone 4 days - The usual brown nosing and who can speak loudest mentality prevails in gaining a promotion. - A lot of dead weight positions offering zero value... sales enablement comes to mind. - A concerning and almost erotic fascination with admin processes. You will often spend 80% of your day talking about Salesforce... - Non existent product integrations and functionality, you are essentially selling a dream. - The marketing is cringe at best and someone needs to tell leadership that they are not the 'first employee app' on the market. There are several Hundred others. - No one seems to know how to price the product. Its too expensive for the smaller companies, and too cheap for the larger ones. They seem to make it up on the spot.
