Pros

1. Talented Workforce (on occasion): Some highly skilled employees were hired, bringing significant expertise to the company. However, their contributions were often stifled by upper management's rigid and overbearing decision-making process. 2. Initial Hybrid Work Model: In earlier years, the company fostered a hybrid work environment that supported flexibility and collaboration, which was a positive aspect before leadership shifted to stricter policies.

Cons

Leadership & Management Failures Tunnel Vision and Greed: Leadership exhibited a strong bias towards self-serving, short-sighted decisions. Their refusal to adapt and evolve the company’s strategic vision led to significant client losses and multiple rounds of layoffs. Incompetent Hiring for Key Roles: Unqualified individuals were placed in critical leadership and project management positions, acting as needless obstacles rather than providing actual guidance. Their lack of even basic understanding of project requirements made it difficult for teams to perform effectively. Disconnection from Employees: Senior management, including the highest-ranking leadership, were completely detached from the day-to-day operations. They did not engage with employees, refused even basic courtesies like greeting staff, and failed to establish any sort of rapport or understanding of employee needs. Toxic Work Culture Shift to Strict Work-from-Office Policy: What was once a balanced and hybrid work culture regressed into a rigid, unhappy environment. The mandatory office attendance combined with intense micromanagement led to declining morale and increased dissatisfaction across teams. Micromanagement and Red Tape: Even minor decisions required approval from the highest levels of leadership, effectively shackling talented employees. The constant interference from above limited creativity and destroyed any sense of autonomy. Unethical Practices & Harassment Issues Hiring Individuals with Questionable Histories: The company has a troubling history of hiring people with past incidents of workplace and sexual harassment. One such individual holds a prominent role within HR, further compounding the issue by contributing to an unsafe work environment. Verbal Harassment of Female Employees: Multiple instances of inappropriate behavior and harassment were reported, particularly targeting female subordinates. Rather than taking action, leadership consistently chose to protect the offenders, even pushing victims out of the company. Inefficient Operations & Cost-Cutting at Employee Expense Penny-Pinching Mentality: Despite the company’s 30-year history, they failed to invest in essential roles such as cybersecurity until a major breach occurred. Their reluctance to invest in proper talent and technology placed both the company and its clients at risk. Humiliating Layoff Practices: During mass layoffs, employees were given just a single day’s notice. To add insult to injury, they were asked to return their work bags and ₹150 earphones as if these small items represented any meaningful cost to the company. Poor Compensation & Benefits Below Market Pay: Senior employees were compensated at rates that were far below market standards. For example, the company earned $30-$80 per hour from a client's contract, but senior staff were paid as little as $4-$8 per hour. This massive pay disparity was compounded by ever-increasing taxes that further reduced take-home pay. Delayed Bonuses & Increments: Bonuses and salary increments were routinely delayed by up to two months, creating financial instability for employees. Coffee Machine Charges: As a bizarre and petty move, the leadership not only monopolized the only coffee machine for years but later installed a new machine and charged employees to use it. Meanwhile, one of the senior leaders had free access to their own private machine in their office. Age-Based Hiring Bias Preference for Older Candidates: Rather than meritocracy, the company’s hiring and promotion practices were skewed toward age. Senior leadership seemed to believe that age equaled competence, resulting in the retention of incompetent older employees while more skilled, younger staff were let go. Diversity & Inclusion Bare Minimum Diversity Efforts: The company has done the absolute minimum when it comes to diversity hiring. There is a lack of meaningful diversity initiatives, and any hires that are made to fulfill diversity quotas often feel performative rather than reflective of a genuine commitment to an inclusive workplace. The leadership's inaction toward creating a diverse and inclusive environment is evident, with no real effort made to cultivate varied perspectives or experiences within the teams.
