Pros

Flexi Hours Free pancake on pancake Tuesday (one per staff member)

Cons

No care about staff on a personal level Managers like to use meetings as a way to boost their own egos. Waste of time for anyone involved. Huge emphasis on how the company is performing in sales. Continuous push to get more and more product out the door. Quantity over quality- leading to stressed staff. Recently have been known to let production staff go on the spot with no notice(batch firing). Cramped working conditions. Poor compensation and benefits. Hard to get a car space even though it's outside the city. There is a canteen on site but it is maybe suitable for a much smaller sized company, always felt cramped any time i was in it. Little to no career progression. During my time there there was constant updates on how well the company was doing with regards to sales and growth, but no mention of sharing this success with employees (i.e free shares/salary reviews).

Pros

Some people have been there a long time and are very loyal

Cons

Most of the people in the business are either too focussed on their own job to care about the wider business, and the people who are involved in the wider business have their heads firmly buried - either in the sand or up each others backsides. It is not a fun or good place to work. Most of the staff are miserable and the senior management have no idea about how to motivate or engage the workforce. If people start to challenge the status quo, or someone decides their face doesn't fit, they are out without being given a chance. Everything will be done to make their life miserable until they either quit or are got rid of. Lots of things are proposed and suggested but very few are ever carried out. Don't let them fool you that they are "all about the patient". They are all about the numbers. Unless this area is a passion for you and you want to be a good sales rep, I would not recommend Stryker.

Truly toxic

Pros

The company continues to grow and innovate and invest in R&D

Cons

Truly a toxic work environment with no real care for ground level employees. Core values are nothing but slogans on the wall in the office. Ground level staff are micromanaged and manipulated. This is the reason the conduct Gallup testing prior to employment so they can control the masses. The company are aggressive as they come and will continue to grow but do not care at what expenses. They certainly don't care about the staff on a ground level and a large gap exists between management and workers. This is the highest staff turnover you can experience in the industry. When a complaint is made they claim there is no retaliation which isn't true at all. The HR processes aren't adequate and always favour the manager. Stryker work in a redundant fashion which creates a malaise over their employees and management + HR just don't care. I would avoid this company at all costs.
