      Superintendent - Per Diem

      Pros

      Per diem was a pro, starting is about $1000 per paycheck and it adjusts on location. The ESOP program. Prototype projects

      Cons

      PTO is about 40 hours for your 1st year as an employee. After your 1st year, PTO jumps to 80 hours for your 2nd to 4th year with the company. No Laptops for Superintendents, only iPads. Lead Superintendents are given laptops. Long hours, but this is standard amongst the industry. I would recommend this company and role for someone who is still very new to construction and plans to stay with Summit for the remainder of their career. If you’ve worked for a multifamily general contractor before, you might have trouble meeting certain expectations. Your assigned field team will make or break your experience.

      Pros

      I will retire here. Pay is decent, insurance is average, work load is heavy at times but manageable. The company is now employee owned and thats a major plus!

      Cons

      PTO compared to other companies is very low. 40 for the first year and 80 after that. It goes by quick for me. I can't imagine that it is enough for those who have small kids in daycare or school.
