Pros

the teaching staff and classroom support are fantastic

Cons

management from top to bottom are corrupt and disrespectful. IEC department constantly disrespect the foreign teachers by not doing their job or listening to any legitimate complaints. management expect you to work overtime "voluntarily" as late as 11pm and will threaten to sack if you don't oblige. every opportunity you will be conned out of your reimbursements, even when you eventually get them they will attempt to underpay it. deliberate or not, IEC department will appear to ignore you repeatedly and any issues requested to be past on will not go any further without repeatedly requesting this and causing yourself more stress

Pros

The children and the Chinese teachers are great.

Cons

Although they like to pretend this is an international school, it is very much ran like a strict Chinese school. The schools tuition is very expensive, more than neighbouring schools, yet the children are hardly provided with any school supplies, not even paper sometimes. You are forced to wear a very uncomfortable formal uniform Mondays and Fridays which makes it difficult to teach kindergarten in. This school is ran purely as a business with no focus on education, only the bottom line... making money. The Chinese teachers are treated horribly and forced to spend the majority of their day doing paper work rather than focusing on the children and teaching. Management makes up new random rules daily for no reason other than to abuse their power. They pay only half salary for summer break and Chinese new year, where all other schools pay full.
