Jaw-Droppingly Bad C-Suite Decisions after Acquisition

Pros

I honestly have yet to experience any.

Cons

Never have I seen such mind-bogglingly poor decisions by C-Suite as with SyBridge when they acquired us. They fired several integral and most knowledgeable staff and machinists, then handed out several "transitional" contracts (i.e. short-term) to employees who are badly needed to stay on permanently. The whole acquisition has been fumble after fumble. It has been two months since this started and I *still* don't know who our SyBridge counterparts are, and no efforts have been made by them to begin joining our team & transitioning to their software, etc. Nothing is happening. No answers, no support, no direction, nothing. *I cannot stress this enough: Do not come to work for SyBridge.* They do not care about people, the turnover inside their own company is embarrassing enough, but their mishandling of our acquisition has caused a mass exodus of highly-skilled professionals, both voluntarily and involuntarily, and the rest of us are hamstrung by the reduced teams and massively overworked. I started looking for a job in the middle of the first town hall, that's how bad this whole thing has been.

Pros

Nice equipment, pay is pretty good. Most equipment is relatively new, but not kept up like the previous owner liked.

Cons

Family who owned and built the place for 25 years sold it to an American company. They destroyed the place in under two years. Never have management on the floor and floor management dont even know employee's names, night shift sleeps because nobody is watching/cares. Employees who have been there since the beginning have all left or been fired so no more technical knowledge left. Used to be able to eat your lunch off the floor it was so clean, now they save money by not having people clean. Management makes promises but I stopped holding my breath a long time ago...still waiting for the 'employee satisfaction survey results' that "HR" did two years ago...just assume they dont want to publish the results because they are so bad. Don't waste your time and come to Sybridge regardless of how good the sales pitch is.

Lack of Management & Direction

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

Interesting technology and customer base

Cons

After getting acquired, there has been a lack of leadership for the business. Key employees have left with no backfill or care. Responsibilities are undefined and wide due to lack of backfill. This leads to overworked and stress employees while other's do not work at all because of the lack of responsibility clarity and accountability. As a part provider, sales is the key cog in the machine, and sales leadership has been transcalent throughout the year. Hiring more and more people without seeing a correlation in orders/revenue, while the rest of the business crumbles due to lack of retention. Lastly, the HR team is completely irrelevant and unresponsive, which further decays what used to be a good culture.
