I have been working at Symphony full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great company with massive potential and on the path to success. Not for the faint-hearted, this place requires hard work, long days and can do attitude. Work hard, play hard company. People are great, very professional and highly skilled. Great environment to develop, get you out of your confort zone and become a better version of yourself. Great exposure to plenty of diversity technologies, solutions and platforms. Lots of opportunities to grow and get promotions to new postions.

    Cons

Workload can be overwhelming at times and need to be able to cope with stressful situation. Customer is king, so always need to do what needs to be done.

I worked at Symphony full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You’ll love your next job so so so much!

    Cons

It’s hard to know where to start, but all roads lead to the CEO. He’s a bully who leaves a wake of chaos wherever he goes. Rather than be in the areas that can help the business succeed such as NY or London, he hides in Asia adding zero value and terrorising people in chat rooms and over the phone. So that he be treated like a mini (size and quality) Steve Jobs, he’s surrounded himself with a horror show “talent” who run key initiatives and business lines. Since they are all his friends or family, no one ever challenges him and subsequently, nothing good is developed and politics runs rife. Anyone with financial services knowledge has left having worked out its a sinking ship. The product is terrible and despite repeated requests from clients for development and additions to roadmap, nothing that delivers genuine value, transforms workflows or betters current services has been delivered. Bloomberg must be laughing that despite $450m ploughed into this company, the result is nothing short of useless. It’s unfortunate that so many good people believed the hype and left quality firms and jobs to try and make a difference here, but it’s impossible to make a difference in a culture and company as toxic as this. Steer clear, you will thank the people leaving negative reviews. I think the positive ones are from HR as everyone hates working here.

I worked at Symphony full-time for less than a year

    Pros

You think you are in the top innovative company, but it is the opposite. Product is not good at all and nobody use it in banks. CEO is a joke and his product is a great lie especially all his security and compliance speech. Slack should be more used in banks. I do not understand why Such amount of money was invested into such a bad technology

    Cons

Valuation is completely non sense. They treat you as disposable and working with chat is a nightmare

I have been working at Symphony

    Pros

A lot of thought has gone into recruitment - there is some amazing talent on board. People believe in what they are doing and love what they are doing. Product is under rapid development using bleeding edge technology. Senior management has the right experience and desire to make Symphony succeed. Good age range of employees from young to 'worldly'. Employee investment includes off site training in Palo Alto and a chance to meet the whole team and engage with them. If you want to work with the best of the best and are happy to just get on with what needs to be done, this is the place for you.

    Cons

It's a silicon valley start up with multiple offices around the world so there is close to zero work/life balance. Too many people are available and working/online at antisocial hours which sets a precedent for the rest of the organization. Hopefully as the company matures and hires more people there will be a better distribution of work and the culture will become less chaotic.

I have been working at Symphony full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Customers want the success of the firm which gives very good direction and insight into their business. This is very valuable for a product management. This as well mean the mid-term outlook is extremely positive. The culture is great and everyone is fully committed to success. Salaries and benefits are very competitive, especially for the region. The pace of development is also high and you get to decide many things by yourself and are encouraged to do so.

    Cons

You should not worry about not having time to finish everything because there are tons of possibilities. The hard thing is not to fo things but this comes with experience.

I have been working at Symphony full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Global, cross region infra to learn and manage (over than a thousand VMs, complicated VPCs, mixed containers / VMs) for decent engineers looking for challenge. True cross public cloud environment. Lots of hidden experts (friendly and good to depend on) to learned from. Picky customers for polish your knowledge and incidents handling skills. Company reimbursement policy for technical certifications.

    Cons

Some legacy open source software needs to upgrade. Need to have some principal engineers in board / vendor sales meeting to review their sales talk.
