Pros

Lots of very good and dedicated people, great technology people. Good salaries and benefits. High employe motivation.

Cons

Lot's of nepotism and politics, some people are very protected, get high up and deliver nothing for years, if you're not part of it or fight against it you're out. The company hides behind it's monopoly position and lacks of strategy and vision, ignores the real needs of the markets. All decisions are taken out of the US by people who lack knowing the markets and cultures outside of the US. Too much budget spent on marketing just to show off. Huge amount of money spent on travel by corporate and management, even posting pics on Facebook of their first class seats when other departments who really need to be with the customers fly economy and actually deliver something. Lay off a lot of good people just to please incompetent managers who don't deliver anything apart from nice talks. A lot of employes (including myself) leave the company because of management not because of the company, management is taking bad decisions just to serve their own cause. Too many executives who hide behind their power positions and play politics with people's life.

It's all about the reporting...stupid

Pros

Incredibly good operational people with great ideas, customer relationship skills and a positive attitude, unfortunately they are hardly ever listened too.

Cons

Strategy - get one and stick to it, at the moment it's tactical hell, there is little or no prioritisation, unless its a 'pet project' making someone look good, taking up a huge amount of resources with very little benefit to the company. Nepotism - if your well connected on the Tampa 6th Floor your immune to criticism, especially if your on the 6th floor. Given the disaster of the Jeff Gordon era (MACH/Aicent acquisitions) and the lack of market awareness that has driven the Company to lay off 00's of people with more to come that the entire 6th Floor team is still I place says all that needs to be said. Working Hours - your going to average at least 60hrs per week, there is no 'down time', weekend calls are the norm. At Director level and above you going to average 70+hrs and to hell with personal circumstances. Reporting - you can spend 3+ days out of 5 on reports, the Company is driven by internal reporting rather than market requirements. The Company thinks that it can buck market trends, it still hasn't admitted that it can't, you have a snr mgt team who in most cases think Syniverse is like a Google they need to smell the coffee, its not, a little humility/listening in the market would go a long way. Tampa is the center of the universe if you work in Rest of World your nothing more than a lackey for Tampa, no matter at what level you work.

Pros

almost nothing, except that the office is in a central place of London at Aldgate station so easy to commute there.

Cons

Terrible and absolutely not professional management, alienated people within the team, no positive feedbacks given EVER to the time, lots of neagtive feedbacks instaead ( on a daily basis) wihich is absolutely not motivated. The entire team and staff overthere is exhausted and depressed all the time, mostly due to the lack of positive management. Salary is also not in harmony with the unflexible and long working hours. Not recommended at all!

Thank you for providing feedback on your experience at Syniverse. We strive to provide a positive working environment for all our employees globally, and are disappointed to hear that you feel we’ve fallen short in these efforts within your team. We take steps each year to enhance our workplace culture, and in addition to having an active Employee Association in the London office, we’ve recently added two additional awards to our global Employee Recognition Program to provide managers with additional ways to recognize their teams throughout the year. We hope that the addition of these awards will further the culture of recognition for those in the London office and across the company. As always, all employees are encouraged reach out to their local Human Resources representatives to discuss any specific concerns.
