Hello and thanks for taking the time to provide your perspective on your time and experiences with us at TSP. We value honest and insightful feedback tremendously, and you touched on some aspects of TSP work that we continually strive toward, including flexibility for our #TSProckstars. Like many companies, we're not immune to earned constructive criticism. In fact, we welcome it. You mentioned our management structure being "disorganized" — your situation may reflect that, but given the anonymity of Glassdoor reviews, it's difficult to tell. But after our company-wide reorganization in January 2018, we've actually seen more of the opposite. Roles and expectations are defined and communications have improved. We always encourage our employees to have conversations with their managers — one of our company values is "Real Conversations Are Welcomed" — we mean it. Additionally, we offer a broad range of free continuing education for our employees via Rockstar U available on CSC (our company intranet) — everything from personal development to technical certifications — all completely free for employees. It's true that some positions at client locations do not inherently offer well-defined avenues for progression in that specific role, but given the ease of access to free development tools offered, there's nothing standing in the way of opening new doors with TSP — we strongly encourage all to do so — not only does it help to support our partners, but it helps to further develop our employees. Thanks again for your service to the company!

Pros

One of the biggest advantages of this role is the earning potential. The commission structure is competitive, and if you are motivated and consistent, there’s real opportunity to make well above your base salary. The company also offers solid training and onboarding, which helps new hires build sales skills and get comfortable with the product or service portfolio. Another perk is the autonomy—TSPs usually manage their own territories, which gives you freedom to build client relationships in a way that works best for you. Recognition programs and incentives for top performers also make it rewarding when you put in the effort.

Cons

On the flip side, the workload can be demanding. Meeting quotas often requires long hours, and the travel involved in managing a territory can take a toll on work-life balance. Because the pay is heavily commission-driven, your income can fluctuate month to month, which isn’t always ideal if you prefer stability. Advancement outside of sales roles is limited, so career growth depends on whether you want to stay in sales long-term. Finally, the experience can vary depending on your manager and region—some leaders are supportive, while others are more hands-off, which impacts your day-to-day.

Thanks for taking the time to provide us and the Glassdoor community at large a very concise overview of your time with us so far. You list several keywords and phrases — some we take great pride in — but others that bring pause. We conduct extensive market research constantly to ensure the compensation offered is as good as it possibly can be — if it wasn't, we'd constantly be losing out on the best employees, but we're not — there's a reason that we're considered by some of our clients as being the best kept secret in the IT space. While we don't have an actual office that our employees work out of, it sounds as though you may be based at a client location and they're pet friendly — that's awesome! However, if you're experiencing any dynamics that you believe are placing you under undue pressure, then we strongly suggest reaching out to Talent Management or, at minimum, having a straightforward and honest conversation with your manager. We strive to maintain a healthy work/life balance for every single member of our team, and if you feel that your workload is prohibiting that for you, please reach out to Talent Management as soon as possible. Thank you for being a part of our team.
