Pros

Good pension and holiday entitlement If you enjoy office banter and being free to play on your mobile phone when you want, then this is the place for you

Cons

Senior Management are blinkered to their own way of doing things or wanting things done All departments becoming target driven and focus is on commercial activities only. Compliance and legal obligations only do what needs to be done. No investment in infrastructure it’s a make do and mend culture. Some managers only get the job as they are friends of the senior management team and can talk the talk, but not necessarily walk the walk. If your good at your job you get pigeon holed and as work levels increase the expectations is for the additional work to be absorbed, extra resources are a none entity unless you work in the sales department.

Pros

•Opportunities for Process Improvement: Despite the resistance, you were able to introduce initiatives aimed at modernising the department. Your efforts demonstrated initiative and a forward-thinking mindset, focusing on improving efficiency and bringing outdated systems into alignment with current standards. •Consistent Performance and Goal Achievement: You consistently exceeded your monthly performance targets, showing dedication, discipline, and a strong work ethic. Even in a challenging environment, your results demonstrated measurable contributions to the company’s success. •Management Was Neutral (Not Overtly Negative): While leadership did not actively support or recognize your efforts, they also didn’t directly create conflict or hostility. Their passivity stood out in contrast to the more hostile behavior of some colleagues, though it was not enough to improve the workplace culture.

Cons

•Workplace Resistance to Change: Many coworkers were deeply entrenched in outdated processes and practices. Your attempts to introduce new systems or ideas were met not just with skepticism but open hostility. This resistance made it difficult to implement even basic improvements and led to friction between you and your peers. •Lack of Team Engagement and Support: Despite consistent efforts to build relationships and engage in workplace communication, you were often met with silence or dismissal. It became common to go through entire workdays without meaningful interaction, which created an isolating a demoralising atmosphere. •Exclusion and Social Isolation: Repeated attempts to integrate into the team were unsuccessful. You were often excluded from informal conversations and left out of workplace camaraderie, despite showing openness and professionalism. This emotional toll added to your sense of disconnection and lack of belonging. •Leadership Gaps and Policy Inconsistencies: There was no clear effort from management to create an inclusive or equitable culture. For example, remote work privileges were inconsistently granted, with no transparent criteria, leading to resentment and perceived favouritism among staff. •Lack of Recognition and Appreciation: Despite your strong performance and exceeding expectations, your efforts went unnoticed. There was no verbal acknowledgment, incentive, or reward, which contributed to a growing sense of being undervalued and taken for granted. •Disheartening Work Environment: The combination of social isolation, lack of recognition, resistance to progress, and unclear leadership created a workplace culture that felt discouraging and demotivating. Over time, this environment wore down your morale and made continued engagement feel futile.
