Worst experience I've had in my career

Pros

Hardly any. I'd say maybe one or two people that were nice to work with. Another pro, that isn't really a pro, is the VP of Sales hardly ever spoke to me or checked what I was doing during the week. We spoke once a week for 15 mins, if that.

Cons

Where do I start? First let's start with being lowballed on salary when it came down to the offer, even though they knew salary expectations and said throughout the interview process that they were aligned. President of the company is one of the most unpleasant, antiquated, short-sighted, uninspiring, demoralizing "leader" I've worked for. Sales team meetings were a joke. Even the least experienced sales leader knows you save numbers/quota/pipeline/rep-level deal updates for 1 on 1s. Never was strategy ever discussed. VP of Sales is the most absentee leader I ever worked for. Zero coaching, leadership, strategy, development, etc. I could go on and on. Oh and there's no comp plan, so they pick and choose what they want to do given the circumstance, no clear cut policy or rules for commission. Zero HR team/people/person who has the employees basic good interest in mind, the President is HR, and has someone doing whatever he says to do with everything and anything HR related. Don't expect any training, not on product, sales strategy, how to use the few tools they do provide you. Took months to get even a basic Zoominfo account to do the job. They do not set you up for any kind of success. They give you a list of accounts and say go get 'em. Asked for months for basic sales/marketing info like business outcomes, talk tracks, the most basic "what good looks like" and never got it. Some of the most expensive benefits I've ever had to pay for in my entire career. No home office stipend. They want you to use your home internet and personal cell phone for work but do not reimburse anything at all towards it.

Poor Experience Overall

Pros

Easy work, but the CEO is not a fan of innovation whatsoever. No room from growth or career expansion. They are marketing like it’s 1995 with processes and methods SO outdated I’m shocked that they are even surprised when business performance reflects this very thing!

Cons

I got hired in under the impression they wanted to take their content more serious, improve the quality, engagement and traffic etc but everything I was tasked to do lead to the opposite. No room for creativity and I don’t think any of my professional advice was taken in the 2 years I wasted in this role, The management here does not let other people simply do their job or take ownership of their role, instead this is possibly the worst micromanagement I’ve ever come across in my entire career.
