      Great place to be a manager

      Pros

      Based on all the reviews being from management in the same week, Tark must be an awesome place to work or they were told by the consultant to write them. Hmm...

      Cons

      An honest review: management is completely detached from reality. This used to be a great place to work, but with every “change” life gets better for management and far worse for the rest of the company. Jim, our CEO, no longer engages with employees. He only talks with his “managers” and consulting staff, and has lost touch with how bad everything has become for the people actually doing the work. Pretty much everyone I know is job hunting here and looking to leave.

      Please know that Glassdoor encourages employers to invite their employees to post candid reviews of their work experience. We started this process with the executive staff and have since expanded to everyone here at Tark. There is no incentive or repercussion for posting or not posting; a good or bad review. We followed the same process with empowered servant leadership (i.e., we began with the executive staff and expanded to everyone). This focus is probably what you refer to when you say, "he [the CEO] only talks with his managers" As more and more reviews are posted from non-management, perhaps you'll see that not "everyone is job hunting and looking to leave." Our door is always open.

      Pros

      Laid back environment. Some friendly people. Cookouts and other activities.

      Cons

      Very poor management and planning. No focus, everything is a fire that needs addressed immediately, so nothing gets completed, but just hangs in space indefinitely or until it becomes the hottest fire. Corporate Initiatives are at the whim of the owner and change with the seasons.

      In 2019, we began pivoting towards a corporate culture of empowered servant leadership. This is having a dramatic effect on how "management" is viewed (since everyone is treated as a leader). We have also implemented thematic goals to drive the decision making process and avoid distraction when someone cries, "squirrel!" Thank you for sharing.
